82 FJ-40, $9000, Central Texas

I am still trying to sell my cruiser. I have owned Colonel Mustard for 7 years. I am hitting the road touring next year and need the cash. Brakes have been rebuilt less than a year ago with reciepts. It runs very very solidly. Starts on one key turn. OWN a PIECE OF HISTORY. There are a few rust spots but nothing that can't be easily remedied. Very few 1982's came into the country. Aside from the brakes I have done all the work on it myself.

yes. I feel it is worth what i am asking. Stock everything, in exceptional mechanical working order. The issues in my opinion lie in the cosmetics. Some people care, or some people own welders and can easily remedy the problem. I can really only compare this to other FJ-40s i've seen in person that were for sale. I used to work for Wimberley 4wd...selling and working on 20 to 30 all conditions cruiser at any given time. I am just trying to get the most out of it. It means alot to me and this is my first time selling a car.

Do you have any underhood pictures, rear sides inside, front floor, or underneath pics? It looks like you have the typical 79+ rust but am wondering how bad.

Sorry to say, not much is selling these days. I have seen many Cruisers on this BB sell in that range, they were very nice. This does not strike me as an 8K truck either. If it was worth that someone surly would have paid it by now. IMO, it does not have a WOW factor to bring that much $$.... If your selling something present it in its best form. IMO this was just tossed out without considering cosmetics.

1500-3000 depending on mechanical condition. With rust that bad on the outside i can imagine the entire body needs replacing.

Good luck, i hope that helps... If all else fails give Ebay a shot. This is a pretty discriminating group here.
