I am posting this truck up for sale for a customer. I have nothing to gain on the sale of this truck. Just doing a favor for a customer and would like to see the truck go to a good home.

I personally owned this truck from 2003 to 2005 and it is very cool. I sold it to the current owner who had the 5.7L Vortec installed.

Please do not PM me with questions. Please direct all inquiries to the current owner. His information will be listed below.

1975 FJ45 extra cab pickup. Extra cab conversion done in Australia.
-5.7L Vortec V8 mated to a non-USA H41 (granny low) 4 speed transmission
-front disc brakes
-full float rear end
-aluminum tray back 6'X6' with overhead rack
-2" lift
-31" BFGoodrich AT's
-brush guard
-dual tanks
-sun roof

Vortec V8 conversion was professionally done by Proffitt's Cruisers in
2005. 3,000 miles since conversion. This truck is Right Hand Drive and turns a lot of heads. It will seat 6 in a pinch. Back seat is useable but a little tight for passengers.

The truck needs a paint job and some body work. It has a little rust but no rot. There is no rust through on this truck.

Lots more to this truck, pictures
and more info available on request.

Asking $15,000. Truck is located in Artesia, New Mexico.

Call or email JD for more info.

Cool looking rig.

Is it a stretched FJ45 or a bobbed FJ40?
Neither. The frame is a LWB 45 frame and is not stretched. Only the cab has been extended to make the extra cab.

Not sure how much the cab was extended but the standard bed on a LWB FJ45 is 7'. The aluminum tray back on this truck is 6 feet long. The cab is extended more than a foot so the bed sticks out further than a stock bed would. Hope that makes sense.

I could possibly look at this truck with a week's notice, I'm in Artesia every week.

75 with an early w/s frame?

Interesting.

very cool rig!

the shiney tires and red springs crack me up!

It was either pieced together OR Australia did not get the same upgrades we did at the same time. From my understanding, it should not have disc brakes as Australia did not get them until the 80's. But.... it definitely has disc brakes.

i recall this being for sale in CO a few years back.

That was me selling it a few years ago. I ended up selling it to the current owner.

i know that the troopie did'nt get frnt discs until 83 down under. my 81 hj45 has drums and the 82 troopie i'm building for a customer had them as well.

my 84 hj47 has discs.

.

My 76HJ has drum brakes too, but the knuckles have the ears for the calipers and the birfs are fine spline.

I think the W/S frame was a pieced item. A hunch it was a rust issue. Just a hunch.

Thanks for the bump.
Yes, it is still for sale.

i almost bought this one for $7500 a few years back....... i think it sold for 6500.ish. Iirc it was fairly near or at Proffits at some point. I have a ton of pics of rusty areas somewhwere.....and it seemed workable. i forgot most other details on it. but it seems to be in exact same condition as when it sold last........

except for the spit polish on those tires!!!! boy that probably gets u an extra 2mpgs...:)

Was Proffitts only using 0 miles engines for conversions at that point? or low-mile swapouts?

I actually bought it a couple years ago, sprung it over, 36" swampers and extended the wheelbase 8 inches to help with proportions. Was a cool rig, sold it to a guy in Petaluma. It was at proffitts, Beno handled the sale as the owner was from Australia!
