Cruiser is located in Troy, Ohio (approx 25 miles North of Dayton)

I hate to say it, but it’s time for me to part with my Cruiser. It hasn't seen off-road in some time and when I did it was usually on mild trails. I've made quite a few changes in the truck since I rode trails with the Mid-Ohio group such as V-8, 465 tranny and SuperSwamper SXs.

A Little History

I've been the owner of this Cruiser since 1989 when I found it in a local salvage yard. The previous driver did a low-speed roll on the rear driver’s side and in the process damaged the roof and driver’s side upper rear quarter. During the years of ownership, I replaced the roof and rear quarter panel, but sold the top as an assembly when I could no longer install it over the full roll cage I added.

Why am I Selling My Rig?

I haven’t thought much about selling it and really don’t have to; but, my interests have changed and I don’t see myself taking the truck off-road or driving it in town that much. I've only taken it out of the garage about two or three times a year over the past 7 years and that was just either to ride to work or around town.

LIST OF SOME OF THE ADD-ONs
Chevy 350 (TBI) w/465 and OEM Toyota xfer.
Aluminum radiator
Electric fan (switch controlled)
Centerforce clutch
Gas tank replaced with OEM replacement part.
Rear ARB
35x15.5 SuperSwampers SXs (extra set of smaller mud BFGs for on-road, very little tread remaining)
8000# Ramsey winch
Bull Bar
Power Steering (Saginaw from a Cherokee)
Front spring reversal
Dual Optima Red batteries (one old and dead)
Soft top with full soft doors
Decent paint
Chopped up OEM doors (repaired door handles)
Fender guards
Plenty more stuff
New set of Cool Cruiser front fenders (not installed)

Extra Info
It did have a front end wobble, but this was fixed by replacing broken OEM front shackle. Also the xfer rear output and the front diff seal leak. Engine is really strong - throttle body.

Rear spring mounts were replaced with OEM parts. Also running an oil and power steering cooler. I have an electric fan (switch/relay controlled) providing airflow thru an aluminum radiator. Headlights are Hella high output (100W on high).

The truck is clean, but not a pretty showroom piece. Rear quarters were replaced with some Canadian panels (16 ga) that weren't quite long enough in the back, so patches were added. I replaced the rocker panels with shorter 16 ga sheet with a bottom lip. The shortened rocker panel gives extra clearance. The Brown's from Columbus, OH installed the sliders.

There are a couple of other places where I patched in steel -mainly on both front fenders and around the tub floor area. Installed Cool Cruiser rear fender wells and Man-A-Fre rear bolt-in tail gate. I tried not to use filler. Where I did use filler, it was Duraglass. In other areas I purposely didn’t use filler because I would have a better idea of the condition of the metal.

I also have enough paint for the doors. I also have the paint color information.

Peace!

Additional Details

Forgot to mention that this truck also has a hand throttle mounted to the stick shift.

All rear wheel brake cylinders have been replaced along with new pads.

Rear axel rebuilt when ARB was installed.

Driver and passenger seats have 4-point safety harness.

Equipped with master battery switch. Choose between BATT1, BATT2, BOTH or OFF.

Has padded center console. Battery disconnect switch located inside.

I'm in the process of painting the OEM doors which I have made into half doors. I kept front part of window frame intact so window can be rolled up.

I plan to list on ebay once doors are painted. However, I hope to sell it before then.

Thanks for the offer. I would just rather sell outright.

Peace,

Dave

Consider Trade for Good Touring Motorcycle

Okay, I still have my '78 Cruiser - not a bad thing mind you, but I'm not going to be able to off-road - not that I really did a lot in the past. My interests have turned to the two-wheel variety. I am planning on selling the Cruiser to fund another toy. I have been thinking about getting a touring motorcycle. Initially, I was looking for a BMW -GS, RT or LT. However, I would consider later model BMW, Goldwing or Harley touring bike. Must be in very good, ready to roll condition. May consider adding coin to in order to get the right bike.

This truck does have a clear Ohio title.

Email works better for me than a PM. I check my email more frequently.

I have been told by some that the link to the truck photos is broke. Not true; however, Roadrunner has had server issues recently. Email me if you have difficulty with link. I'll send photos.

Dave

Don't use www. to get to link

Hey, Just checked the link and it works. Don't use the normal Openads, instead use New Page 1. This should get you there. Dave

$6,500.00 Wobble in front end is fixed. Replacement of broken front OEM shackle was all she took. Also installed new Holley 15psi fuel pump.

Shameless bump. Bought a bike. Will consider reasonable offers.
