FS: 97 FZJ80 40th Anniversary NJ

1997 40th Anniversary FZJ80 Land Cruiser 30k miles on the engine
Price: $10,500
Location = north central NJ

Yes, truck was for sale previously a few months ago. Life temporarily fell apart, so selling the truck was not a high priority and it just sat there.

Truck is a 1997 40th Anniversary model Toyota Land Cruiser. Engine has approx 30k miles on it. Full new long block engine replacement performed by local Toyota dealer due to Toyota’s previous misdiagnosis. Total mileage on the truck is 132k. Yes, I have paperwork backing this up from the dealer.

Truck is 9 yrs old, so there are some nicks and dings as well as dirt etc; mechanically it’s been well taken care of.

In addition to the stock configuration, immediately upon picking up the truck 5 years ago I replaced the sound system with Eclipse, MB Quart separate speakers, Kicker sub with an Alpine amp. Also had custom sheepskin seat covers made for both front and rear – more to protect the leather than anything else. The truck is equipped with LoJack and has glass etching. Truck also has: center differential lock switch, and the rotary F&R locker switch (can be run with ARBs), added cup holder, added 3 12V outlets, 1 added GFCI outlet in cargo area as well as power distribution set up under ps front seat and inside rear ds ¼ panel for additional accessories. Sale of truck includes custom sliders (some call them running boards) and CB. Truck also has remote start.

Other upgrades include: high output Mean Green alt., new Optima battery (installed today), husky floor mats and cargo area mat, led lights for doors maps and domes, 295/75R16 BFG AT/KO tires with plenty of tread left.

Recent work includes: full front axle service – gears, birfields, knuckles, bearings, rotors and pads (including speed bleeders) with new calipers, rear axle service including bearings, rotors, pads, all belts recently replaced, new plugs and wires, new pcv and misc other hoses (pesky lower heater hose included), oil change, trans fluid change.

Truck did not have OEM roofrack so there is no issue with patched holes in roof or rust from the OEM racks.

Please note that recently the ds rear fender flare (the rearmost of the 2 pieces) popped off. It has been popped back on but this is likely something you’d want to replace – you can see how it looks in the picture showing the dent (note this has now been fixed). I went to dentwizard and they said they could pop the dent out but I’d have to wait about 3 weeks to fit their schedule. I’m not waiting the 3 weeks so truck is sold as is where is. I will help in every way I can within reason for shipping.

I'm confused...Does the FZJ80 have factory front/rear lockers or just the switch?

So has the dent been fixed (from an accident?) or not. I read it both ways that it has been fixed as stated in the () and that you didn't want to wait 3 wks for dentwizard.

Last...Rust issues? I'm looking for a FZJ80 but I've stayed away from the NE area due to rust concerns...

TIA

Sad to see you part with it, but good luck with the sale, Junker.

All PMs answered, emails with pics sent. Goes to ebay within a week.

Recent updates for those that haven't read all the threads:
truck got a new Optima Red Top a few weeks ago
truck now has exhaust leak - sounds like from rear near muffler

Sunday will likely be the last time I take it to a Jets game - it's last tailgate.

Good luck finding an 80 with a newer engine .
