Bye Bye 80 Series

A sad time is approaching in my life, but this time is also a moment of change. My 1994 80 Series Land Cruiser is leaving me, on my own accord that is. It is time for me to get rid of this vehicle and move on.

My dilemma is, should I sell it? or should I part it out? I am leaning more towards the parting out side. I would make more money with that route.

What do you guys think? Hopefully, I will be starting my 78' project soon ....

-Josh

Are you planning on going with no cruiser or are you looking at getting another rig?

For a little while, I will have no cruiser. I bought a 04 Excursion limited and 04 350 king ranch both turbo diesels for business vehicles. I have plans to build a 78 or 79 at some point soon, but the 80 has to go .....

hahaha, dude, it is not like I don't like them anymore ... I am ready for a change, and something I can build from the ground up the way I want, like a restore. This 94 has too much crap in it. also, I am building a business and need a more "contemporary" and "modern" vehicle for clients and such

A 40 with links and 80 axles, with a turbo diesel will go anywhere, so that's what I will build. oh yeah, with 47's tooooo ....

hahaha

Is that 86 a IFS or Solid axle?
Either way, if you do a swap or converison I would be glad to lend a hand.
Sounds like a good learning opportunity.

It's IFS, the 80 front axle will be great under that pickup, but the rear would not work. Land Cruiser axles are offset to the right ...

Hmmm ... I don't know about the whole thing. Around $5000 without the new wheels and tires, and $6000 with the 37's ....

Something like that...

We are starting a flower farm. ie ... Princess Anne Meadows Garden & Farm ...

A lot is wrong with the truck, it is a trail rig that just has a bunch of little problems with age and such. Drivetrain, motor and axles are fine.

Man that sucks! I guess you've made up your mind tho. Sometimes you just gotta move on, and a 40 series with 80 axles and turbo diesel engine would be awesome! but then you lose all the cargo room of the 80 body.

So are you going to bring one of the F*rds out to play with us!?

haha ... I don't know. The Super Duty has 47's, which are ridiculous, and I'm planning on running the 39" Michelin's on the Excursion, with low lift.

I am actually debating something different for the 40, like portals, or rockwells with 47's ???
