Looking for fj40 for friend in DC
I have a friend at work who has an interest in off-roading and is looking for a rig. She said she really likes old broncos, but I'm trying to convince her to get a cruiser. She is looking for swb, so a 40 would be perfect. She wants to learn to work on it herself (she's not your typical girl, which is great) and build it up for "rock crawling." I showed her some pics of fj40's, and she said "okay, my boyfriend can have a bronco, I'm getting a cruiser." Any leads in the DC area? I don't know when she is looking to buy, but she has begun her search. Could be a beater, as long as it's okay mechanically.
PS--funny side note, she said she's really gotten into xtreme4x4 on spike tv (mostly because of the girl, they kind of look similar).

I don't know of anyone selling at this point, but I'll definitely let you know. Would she be willing to travel a little bit to take a look at something? You could try posting in the vehicles for sale/wanted section. Or try posting a message to the Virginia Land Cruiser List (VLCL).
I'll post this to the CLCC mailing list, too.
Does anyone know if James Asti still has any cruisers for sale?

Turns out my friend is moving to Oregon this summer, so she's going to look for a hopefully rust-free rig out West. But she's now gotten into cruisers, so maybe we'll see her here on the boards. Once she moves she's going to post up in the "wanted" section.
