Angry Truck update not so good......

Heres the link to the thread i started in the 60/62 section. Finnally got it out on teh road and it went well. Next day it sounded like a knocking noise (is an engine throwing a rod refering to teh push rods?) and the idle is all over. Anyone have some ideas. Looking like the honda's coming to the meeting w/ me :(

Hey Drew, I know how you feel. Your Honda might be meeting my Nissan.

Dude, that sucks! We've gotta get our cruisers healthy!

On another note, is the meeting at the dealership tonight?

One of the locknuts above the pushrods came loose. Readjusted the valves and things seem good. ANy progress w/ the 40. Maybe one of your locknuts loosened up too? Fuel getting past a loose exhaust valve maybe?

Well, the backfiring stopped after Wed morning's attempt to drive it to work. Now it idles smoothly but runs rough under acceleration or while cruising. Someone in the other thread mentioned that it could have been condensation in the gas line since I left it almost empty for 3 weeks in the cold. So, I poured in some de-icer yesterday to absorb moisture. It still runs rough, but my hope is that the stuff just needs time to circulate through the system.

Anyone have any experience with this stuff?

I think I just need to break down and get a timing light and start there.
