Need some help in Leesburg

Hi folks,

A good friend of mine mistakenly filled her new Mazda car up with diesel at a filling station in Leesburg. Shockingly, it won't run. She is in a bit of a bind due to closing on a house this weekend in NC and could use a hand.

Currently her car is at a mechanic's shop (I don't know which one) but she is unwilling to pay them the 700 bucks to drain her tank, flush her fuel system and change her plugs.

I may be able to do the work this weekend if anybody has a garage and jack that I can use, but I may end up in CA for a funeral.

So, if anybody is willing to lend a hand or a garage, I'd really appreciate it. If anybody is willing to do the work for her, I imagine that I can convince her to compensate you for your time.

As it stands now, I'll be heading back to VA around the same time she is--roughly 1530 on Friday, so that would be the soonest we could be any assistance. PM me here if you can help out in any way and I'll put you in contact with Casey.

Thanks for the help!

Dan

Yikes! Sorry I can't be of any help to her. I've always wondered how often that happens..

I thought diesel nozzles were too large to fit in a gas filling hole, no?

Sorry dude, but it 700 dollars to save a newer vehicle does not seem unreasonable. They have to make a living too. I think getting off for just 700 is not so bad. They have to make a living too.

They are. In this case, I think they just put on whatever nozzle they had laying around. (smaller country station)

You are right, but if one doesn't have 700 dollars to spend it isn't much of an option.

She was able to tow it down to quantico and use the base hobby shop to pull the tank and bleed the lines. She said it was a PITA, but total cost was only about $120.

a lot of the nozzles at the common gas stations are the same size as the gas nozzles. I always have to double check when filling up the diesel.

Glad to see she got it going I miss the base hobby shop.
