Annual Who's Going to GSMTR Thread
So who's going? This might be the last GSMTR if they continue to close trails at Tellico.
Matt and I are planning to go and Ryan might possibly fly into Knoxville to attend for a few days.

Yes, we are going to be moving to Hendersonville, NC. The house will be completed by the middle of April. So we have decided to run away.

I am still undecided on what I am going to do...
The Forest Service released their ruling yesterday and Tellico is closed for now. Upper Tellico OHV Area
GSMTR is going to be held but will be a weekend affair instead of all week. Pasted below is from this thread. http://forum.ih8mud.com/tlca-sanctio...15th-21st.html
I have received some PMs from various MUDers asking "whats going on with GSMTR with the potential trail closures?"
A new ad is going out in the upcoming Toyota Trails with info.
Simply stated - GSMTR WILL NOT BE CANCELLED - PERIOD.
If the trails are open we will have a week long ride. If the trails are closed we will have a weekend long fundraiser with several around town and camp events still planned including many rock garden competitions, tug-o-war, raffle, maybe 2 cooked meals (still planning that), maybe a little trip planned - we will see and I will let you know ASAP.
If you have already registered or are thinking about registering please go ahead! If you pay registration and the park is shut down per the USFS's Environmental Assessment Preferred Action then your $ will be refunded. We will then have the best fund raiser we can put on to benefit Rescue Tellico.
Upstate Cruisers is still sorting things out and we will post more up soon.

I was all set and paid up to go. Just got an email last night telling me it has been canceled and how did I want my refund. Appears the trails are closed so they will be doing other events on a pay as you attend type setup. Sounds like they will be having a few things happen at the campgrounds or nearby. Tug of war, some rock climbing, raffle and cook outs etc...

It is with great sadness that I am going to pass on GSMTR this year. I just can't justify that long drive for camping and no wheeling. It looks like the East Coast 4 Runner Jamboree is going to be held at Rausch Creek the weekend of June 13 -14 which overlaps with GSMTR this year. I am going to attend that event instead.
