Hi Capital Cruisers!
For those of you who don't know, I was elected VP at last month's meeting. One of the things I've been asked to do is try to increase the number of events that we do as a club.
To that end, I'd like to propose a series of happy hours, so that club members can get to know each other better. I'll be proposing locations all around the area, so hopefully everyone will be able to make at least one.
To start off, I'd like to invite you all to
Rustico in Alexandria next Thursday night (3/12/09) at 7:00 pm. Rustico is located at
827 Slaters Ln. in Alexandria, VA. They have over 300 different beers, with at least 30 on tap on any given night.
I'd also like to invite everyone to two trail clean ups, being hosted by other clubs.
The first is with the Virginia Krawlers, and is a trail clean up at George Washington Nat'l Forest in Harrisonburg, VA. It will be on Saturday March 21st. More info can be found at the Krawlers' site

The second is with the FJ Bruisers (I'm also on their board). This will be a trail clean up at Green Ridge State Forest in Flintstone, MD. The clean up is on Saturday 3/28, folks will be camping Saturday night, and there will be a fun run on Sunday (please note that it's bad manners to just show up for the fun run one without helping on Saturday). Finally, I'm working on organizing a CLCC Fun Run (no cleaning this time!) sometime in late spring. If anyone has any suggestions (on timing or location), please email me at maiellano @ gmail . com.
