- Sat. April 18th, 2009 - Convenience, Manassas - General vehicle overview and safety. Fluid

changes. 1hr of presentation, remaining DIY.

- Sat. June 13th, 2009 - Convenience, Manassas - Vehicle Tune up. Valve lash, timing, spark

plugs, carb, etc... 1hr of presentation, remaining DIY. - CANCELED

- Sat. Nov. 21st, 2009 Knuckle rebuild. Rebuilding of knuckles, replacing/inspecting.

bearings, packing grease, replacing seals.

Hey all,

Here is my attempt at putting together a tech day/DIY schedule. Since we all like to play after a hard day's work, I have also enclosed the list of wheeling events for our region. Please email/PM me with any changes, correction, or additions. I will make updates when i receive them.

Tech days will have their own posts closer to the event date that will fill members in on details. Please note that we WILL enforce membership so make sure you pay your dues prior to events, especially for the events at Convenience Care Care. Details to follow.

The May event was canceled. Sorry guys. scheduling conflict at Convenience. I have bumped down the events and taken out the solid axle swap for now.

I saw some threads from awhile back regarding welding instruction and wondered if that went through and if everyone is already now a master welder. I could use some instruction on gas welding/brazing/soldering/cutting...just in case. Anyone know the best option for auto-related instruction in this area?

NOVA Community College offers a great program. Stumbaugh's tech day class was a few months ago.

Umm, sorry if I wasn't clear. In the past, the CLCC has coordinated with another club/association (e.g., the Jeepers) to cohost a swap meet. I haven't seen any listing on our events list for a swap meet and wondered if anyone in CLCC has had any such discussions. Lance has been most gracious and totally hosted the last two as I recall.

I don't think we will do a welding day again anytime soon, unless John want to do it again? I think people liked that class, but welding is not really something you can pick up in a couple of hours.

Nova does have great welding classes, and there are some others around too if you have big $$$. If you do NOva, make sure you register VERY early since they fill up fast.

Learning on your own is easy these days too. There are many forums online and great books and DVDs that will help you get started.
