Lifted!
Can you tell? 2.5" OME on 30" tires. 33" Super Swampers on the docket, but not for a while. Oh yeah, no "pretty filter" this time - I actually washed and waxed the beast. The hood turned out to be a different shade of red. Oh yeah, rides nicer too.
Summary: Don't believe the 'MUD members who say a lift will "only take three hours" to complete. It took Ryan seven hours to finish, and he is good. Had to use the acetylene torch (twice) to burn the pin bushing on the front passenger's side, a 30-ton press to flatten the pin "flange" out again, and a belt sander to remove the hardened bushing on the pin. We both took turns with the silver slapper to finally get the pin out. And this was a lift that went well.

Looks great Dave.
7 hours is not too bad. My fastest was 3 hours to put emu on my FJ60 where the truck was one owner and rust free but my 79 FJ40 the lift took me three days to put on because every fastener was a fight!

Thanks! It probably wouldn't have taken nearly as long if we weren't reusing the pins. If I had new pins we probably would've been more medieval with the existing ones.

She looks great! And thats a good time too! Any one who tells you 3 hours is full of it.Took me a weekend doing a 73 and the same for a 71. I did not keep track of beer breaks or stopping to eat. It's like Rachel Ray and her 30 min. meals they don't let you know how much time was spent on prep.

Looks sweet, Dave! I think I need to follow suit...but only after I get my brake situation finished. Something about safety being a priority or something...not clear on that

Don't forget about the safety of being able to straddle tall objects on the pavement!

Looks good Dave. When do you think you will get proper size tires?

Dave, don't let them push you around, your tires reach the ground, just like theirs.
And guilt has driven many a decision, maybe your wife will relent.
