Another Stolen Cat!

Hello, I am still rather new to this forum, and it seems I can never make the monthly meetings. ONE of these days... Anyways I thought I would let y'all know that I am the next victim of catalytic converter theft. I parked my 97 LX450 in the commuter lot at the intersection of 195 and Rolling Rd (just off of I 95 in MD), to go to an Orioles game with my girlfriend, in the middle of the afternoon, and returned 3 hours later to find that I was either missing a catalytic converter or somehow at a NASCAR event! Hmm I kinda liked that throaty exhaust...but I couldn't hear myself think, let alone anything on the radio. So a quick police report and a call into the insurance was in order. The police did not come to the scene, rather they simply took the report over the phone because it seems these things happen all the time. The thief did a clean job atleast, leaving a clean cut on the pipe before and after where the Cat used to reside. Looked like a portable sawzall was used. My insurance, Progressive, did cover all of the almost $3k in repairs from Lexus of Silver Spring (minus the deductable of course). And it turns out I have almost an entirely new exhaust system now for only the $500 deductable. Might be a blessing in disguise Overall I was pleased with the service at Lexus of Silver Spring. They have two shifts of mechanics, working until 2am! I couldn't believe it. Of course they did not have the parts in stock and it took almost a week, but I felt like they treated me right.Guess who's getting new sliders with integrated Cat guards?

Wow, I bet that was unexpected! Glad to hear the dealership took good care of you though.
