Howdy ... I need to buy me a trailer.

Greetin's Folks.

I'm workin' in Baltimore and done come across quite a few goodies to haul back to my house. So many goodies in fact, that they won't fit in my company truck.

I need to buy some sorta 16' to 18' tandem-axle trailer in the next month or so that has atleast a 50/50 shot of survivin' a one-way trip to TX with 'bout 5,000 pounds loaded on 'er. Since I done got me three trailers at the house already ... I'm lookin' for somethin' cheap, like maybe 500 bucks or so.

Anybody here able to hook a Brother up?

hmmm ...

Why not just borrow ?

"Honey, I'm just borrowing that trailer for a bit ..." That's the easiest to explain ...

I'm doing a pull (vehicle purchase with trailer) from out West (Bozeman, MT) next week and looks like I'll end up with an extra trailer in the Wash. DC area in a week or two. I'd want to get it to pass Maryland State inspection and Maryland tag and titled but after that you'd be more than welcome to borrow it to Texas for a bit.

What is the time frame for your travel plans ?

My Best,
Cahil

Too bad we didn't know about your Baltimore Bounty a month ago, sir. I expect the Bay to Blue Ridge Cruisers could have carried much of the loot to the Roundup for you spread across our trailers. I think that the anchor would have looked right at home on the end of the '53 wedge behind Smtyblt's 62. Might have even come in handy had there been a panic stop situation.

I'm guessing you already considered a one way rental. The U-Haul AutoTransport trailer is $728 when I punch in MD to TX. That is more than your budget, but would have the 50/50 chance of making it you were looking for...

Indeed sir.

In fact, when I typed in Dundalk, MD to Bonham, TX the lil' program spit out $724.

It's a viable last resort. But it's got a short deck that ain't solid all the way across. And ... money I would never see again or benefit from again.

If I can buy something for that price ... I could possibly use it 'round the house or, better yet, sell it to recover some of the money.

Just puttin' out feelers.

Have you tried Craigslist? They frequently have trailers, but for $500 you'll only get a single axle.

craigslist: washington, DC classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events
