To make that kind of assessment, I'd need to borrow it for an extended period of time and possibly wheel it once or twice. I think you'd want me to be thorough, yes?

Your going to regret it after college if you sell it. What are your other cars? You said you have 3 why not get rid of the other non daily driver?
Is the 40 paid for? __________________ 1977 FJ40 Hardtop/ S-O-R’s Safari Summer Top®. Fiberglass tub. Rear Aussie Locker. 2F with at least 106,000 miles. Just a suggestion...
Sell your other two cars...buy a used Honda Civic or Accord....and KEEP THE FJ40. That way, you daily drive a budget minded, eco friendly car...still get to have the FJ40....and only have two cars to deal with. PERFECT! __________________ '71 FJ40

You shouldn't sell this, but if you do, why not just ask for what you paid for it? You bought it not too long ago, right? Unless you put a lot of money into it or got it for a screaming deal and you think it's worth more. |

Right now i have the 40, a built up 80 and a honda crx for daily driving.
Originally i went in with my dad on the 40 but a few months back i bought him out. We figured if i paid a small loan off through college it would help my credit when i was out on my own. That was the whole principal behind it. I may be able to just sell the honda and swing the gas in the 80 as the DD. If someone was serious i would certainly be willing to talk though |

If you sell the '40 YOU WILL REGRET DOING SO! Take it from one who sold a 40 that he should have kept (my first 40). Keep it and put the insurance in storage status till you are ready. If you haven't done so, think about registering it as historic to save some bucks.

Dan,
It has antique plates so im saving some there, and not dealing with the inspection hassle. I had a clean '82 fj40 before this, really regretted selling that. I'm going to try and hold onto it but was just curious to see if it would be easy unload. |

It would be a easier unload if you state what your looking to get out of it Brandon. Without a price its hard for anybody to figure how interested they are. I want a 40 in bad way but without a price as a starting point its inpossible to fathom IYKWIM.

Cruiserhead05,
I might be interested... I also sent you an e-mail through Craigslist. Let me know if you still have it and we can talk. I'm pretty close to you (Chantilly, VA) Mike |
