I need more clearance....
I pulled the mangled skidplate off my tranny pan tonight and sure enough i mushed the pan itself pretty well. Its not that bad, but its not the greatest thing either.
I think a full belly pan is in my trucks future. Either that or i need to make friends with some guys with smaller trucks haha. __________________ 1988 FJ 62- SUA, 1" body, 34" trxus mudders, 2.5" exhaust, 27spl Longs/Pig Inners, 4.88s, torsen LSD/lockright, 4runner brakes, other random stuff... 1986 pickup- 2wd, 22r, 4 speed, DD 1985 F-150- mpi 302, future tow rig |

I'm trying to get Dan at FC Fabrication to build some Uber HD skid splates for the 60 series.

What im thinking is making a new crossmember out of 2 parallel sticks of tube and tucking them up as tight as I can to the tranny. I think im gonna notch the crossmember tubes, lay another peice of tube crossways in it with bushings, cut/burn all the old rubber off the tranny side of the stock mount and weld some plates to it that would capture the bushings on the new crossmember. That would give me another inch or two of clearance and be hella strong. Its hard for me to explain this over the net though. If only i had time.... __________________ 1988 FJ 62- SUA, 1" body, 34" trxus mudders, 2.5" exhaust, 27spl Longs/Pig Inners, 4.88s, torsen LSD/lockright, 4runner brakes, other random stuff... 1986 pickup- 2wd, 22r, 4 speed, DD 1985 F-150- mpi 302, future tow rig |
