I need more clearance....

I pulled the mangled skidplate off my tranny pan tonight and sure enough i mushed the pan itself pretty well. Its not that bad, but its not the greatest thing either.

I think a full belly pan is in my trucks future.

Either that or i need to make friends with some guys with smaller trucks haha.

Its kinda gay that nobody makes anything as far as skidplates for 60 series. Ive got a bunch of DOM and i think some of it is gonna find a home under my truck.

What im thinking is making a new crossmember out of 2 parallel sticks of tube and tucking them up as tight as I can to the tranny. I think im gonna notch the crossmember tubes, lay another peice of tube crossways in it with bushings, cut/burn all the old rubber off the tranny side of the stock mount and weld some plates to it that would capture the bushings on the new crossmember. That would give me another inch or two of clearance and be hella strong. Its hard for me to explain this over the net though.

If only i had time....
