This sucks....

Ok, so i traced my intermittent death wobble to the lower joint in my steering shaft. I pulled the whole shebang out, went to napa to get the joint to replace it, but they couldnt look it up by application. So, they said pull it and we will measure it and order you one. So, i pull it, take it in, they order a joint, and i get a larger upper joint, not the small one at the base of the column (even thought they miced it?). So i call cdan, order a lower joint. Yesterday, i get another big joint. Turns out the lower joint is non-servicable apparently and i have to order a new shaft from japan for 250 bucks and wait 5 weeks .

So, heres is the question. I know there are a couple 60 series floating around amongst you guys that are for parts. Is there any way i could get a steering column off of one of you fellas? All i really need is the lower male splined half of a 62 shaft but im thinking a 60 shaft would work, its the same box and same distance from the firewall to the box. I have 2 new joints to put in it........

-Matt

I have a lower shaft off a 60. It has the swivel adaptor on it that slides onto the steering gearbox. I think thats what you are looking for.

I'm traveling and won't be home till friday. I can take measurements and sent you pics.

PM me if you are interested.

Matt,

I've been offline for a few days (trying to finish the 40). I'll have to double check with Cam, but I suspect you can pull it off what is left of the 62 we tore up. Its back at my house in Bowling Green and I'll be around all weekend (trying to finish the 40). PM me if you don't have my number or address.

Tim
