3 Month Visit to Wichita Falls

I'm leaving on the 5th of July for a 3-month tour of duty for the Air Force to Wichita Falls and I'm interested in if there is any cruiser-life in the local area. Seems like LSLC is the closest affiliated group.

Maybe someone can recommend some trails or shows to stop by in the area.

Michael

Contact David in W.F. He goes by DavidW on Mud. That's the only one I know of in that area. Everyone else is further East on the Red River.

Hey Micheal. Contact me when you come down. Bring the 80 Series and we'll do some wheelin'. There are a couple of spots to play around and one guy in our local club owns a 5000 acre ranch that he lets us wheel on. You can check out our local club at TORC4x4.org.

Hey David. I arrived here on Sunday, 6 July. Boy it is freak'n HOT here. I expect this week to be a little busy to get settled in to the routine of the course, but it is starting to look manageable. I have my 80 with me. Her a/c is getting a good workout. I normally don't have to run it too often in Colorado. Thank God it still blows cold.

Let me know if you want to get a run in. You going to show to your next TORC club meeting on the 14th? I think I can swing by if I can find the place.

Michael

I'll be at the fire station that day so I won't be able to make it. Show up anyway and BS with the guys. When you get a chance give me a call 940-631-9505. There is a little place west of here at a lake that is fun to just mess around at.

I think I'll have to run out there. The menu looks good.

Micheal came out wheeling with us today and we only managed to scratch up one of his fender flares and pinstripe a couple of doors on the 80. Seems the wagon liked the trees in the creek bottom at Bridgeport.

A big thank you goes out to TORC for the Texas size hospitality.

That first stretch of trail got narrow pretty fast. It was a great blend of challenges, considering the girth of the 80-series. These pictures don't do it justice once the trail gets into the trees.

While the TORC group was predominately Jeep and some heavily modified truggies, it was refreshing to see a Pig lead the charge.

I'll keep on eye on the TORC board to see what's next on the agenda. Thanks again for the invite and the Bridgeport battle scar.

What school are you going attending at Sheppard? I was supposed to come out for a 3 week school but it was cancelled. I'm going to try to reschedule for cooler weather! Have fun with Fireman!

Later,

Later,
Health Services Administrator (HSA) course. It's your usually military technical school. 6 weeks remaining.
