Difference 70 to 75+
Curiosity question. Thought of getting the CCOT A/C kit for my '70 FJ40. Should really help me conquer the harder trails
Told it was designed to fit a 75+ FJ40. Is there a major difference under the passenger side dash? Can't see why it wouldn't work.

I think there actually is some differences.
I would look at a post 75 side by side with yours at a meeting or something to see what is different before shelling out that kind of $$. Also check out Vintage Air for their FJ40 air system, I have read opinions on the board that it is a better system. No experience just parroting the forum comments. The CCOT system is designed to look like the factory Toyota AC The VA system is smaller and allegedly works better. Throw a post in the 40 section and I'm sure youll get plenty of answers. __________________ "Blue" - '96 FZJ80, OME, ARB, SLEE, E-locked, 4:88, 315 BFG AT "nuther" '82 FJ-40, Stockish..for now. Personally after doing 3 actually.....one I did not document.....I would not do a conversion on one for several reasons
1. It's a big iron non insulated window lined box....they struggle on the hot days to keep it bearable inside there. 2. 6 cyl Toyota motor of either version will struggle to pull the compressor along with the truck at highway spds. 3. Only a real pu$$ would ever want AC on an FJ40 __________________ _______________ Conflict is inevitable..... Combat is optional.... Lone Star Land Cruisers REAL TEXAS MUSIC |

I had AC in mine when I got it and I removed it for pretty much those exact reasons.

It's for the kids...really...
![]() It is my DD. Much like that red Dodge (w/ A/C?). The older I get the more of s pu$$ I become. I work in it all day and just want a break at the end of the day. Though I try to man up I got soft driving the A/C equipped FJ62 (no longer mine) last year. ![]() Pansy extroidinare Chris __________________ LoneStarLandCruisers TheWhiteTrashOfTheElwoodChapter Chris 70 FJ-40 Both 88 FJ-62 Ran out of luck when the Semi ran out of talent Marde 94 FZJ-80 Acting like an idiot?
