Big Bend and Summer Monsoons?

The summer monsoons have started in the Big Bend region. I'm seriously thinking about doing a short trip to Big Bend in early August to enjoy the thunderstorms and wet weather, backcountry driving. The desert is incredible after a storm.

I'm thinking a Friday, Saturday and Sunday trip. Would anyone be interested in joining me

I have been wanting to go to Big Bend, however I'm not a big fan of rain, early August is a definite possibility for me though.

You probably won't want to go in the summer if you don't care for rain or storms. That's the wet time of the year in Big Bend and it rains almost every afternoon. I'd recommend October - March if you're looking to avoid the rain and experience more pleasant temperatures.
