Greetings from Texas Rovers. Yes, we are on for the 22nd. Our super-sekrit spot is about 20 minutes east of the airport near Bastrop. We'll probably hook up around 10AM for the caravan out. The rancher that owns the place has a small outdoor diner. If I can give him a semi-accurate head count a couple days before he'll probably fire up the BBQ for us.

Look forward to hanging out with y'all.

I'll have to see how the weekend at Trees Ranch turns out.
I want to go, but will have to see what has planned.

Watch out for Trigger. He's a little shifty.

I made this trip memorial day weekend with The Texas Rovers guys and had a great time. I'll be driving up from San Antonio with my kiddo. I might bring some of the San Antonio Land Cruiser crowd also. Tony, I'll let you know.

Yes, wayyyy too big. My 80 was a bit on the big side. I think you'd find it more work than fun running those trails in a F250. However, it's your choice of course.

I think they usually meet at the Waffel House on 290 near the airport and caravan from there. Since I'll be coming up from S.A., I'll probably meet you guys on 71 right before Bastrop; unless I have someone to pick up in Austin.

As Brett said it'd be a bit on the big side. You'd probably spend a good amount of time watching us from the sidelines. There are even tighter spots that Brett hasn't seen yet. Things like sliders come in handy for pivoting around trees in some of the tougher off-camber sections and such.

Here's a couple of vids we've taken out there so you get an idea of the terrain.

We'll meet at the Waffle House on Ben White/290 near the airport. We'll be pulling out of there at 10AM. Most folks show up early, around 9, to get breakfast before heading out. If you think you'll be late, send me a PM and I'll give you my number and directions to the spot.

Looks like about 7-8 trucks from your side. I need to get the numbers to the ranch owner on Wednesday evening. Also, it's $20 to play for the entire day. I'll see if I can get lunch thrown in for that.

it figures. Let me know if there is a trail ride that comes up that is a little more big truck friendly.

I am out, I am doing the Texas Heat wave. Put my piece in for the show so people can see what a used truck looks like...

Excellent question. I'll call Tony (a.k.a. Trigger) and find out.

I will have my six year old daughter, a friend and his two kids also. We're going to throw the kids in the back with a video and a strap to secure them.

How do we get there? I'm going to be coming in from a different way and will be unable to meet y'all at the waffle house.

Thx,

Trigger,

Can you post up more info on the trails? What level of difficulty? Stockers OK?

There's stuff for everyone. We've taken everything from stock Range Rover Sports to mildly-modded Defenders out. No serious body damage. Yet. Brett can attest to this.

Of course, if it rains like it has been all bets are off. The soil out there has very high clay content and is a slick as it gets. We've had trucks slide off of straight and level trails when it's wet. Makes it a whole other challenge. In that case you're not going much of anywhere, even locked up. My mudders became racing slicks in seconds in that stuff. No matter how fast I spun them I couldn't through the lugs clear.

Ok, just talked to Rusty at the ranch. He'll be throwing on some briskets for us to chow down on for lunch. Looks like rain on and off today and tomorrow so it could be a bit slick. Bring your galoshes.

If anyone is going to be late feel free to call me for directions on Sunday. 512-917-4661
