Labor Day Plans

Ok, I know 4 Wheel Parts is having there event at Tree's, however, I think Boulder Creek should also be considered. They are having a weekend of trail racing, yep, TRAIL RACING! Check this out....

Come out for the 2008 Boulder Creek Ranch Run for FULL SIZE vehicles on August 30th - 31st. We will have timed events for level 3-5 trails and level
1-2 trails. We will also have drag racing a timed ranch road run all on the 750. This event is for full size rigs from stock to rock crawlers. Saturday night
meal included.

Base camp will be PARKING / CAMPING B.
Per-registration required so we know how much food to purchase. Saturday night meal will be served at the
big tent next to the park office at 7pm. Wee need to have at least 75 rigs, so tell your friends. We are not limiting the number of trucks. Depending on
how many sign up, we may have a country band Saturday night at the big tent.

Krawltex Kanyon (timed event) Level 5 ($ 400.00 purse for best time, plus FREE 3 month membership to the park.
Pop A Top (timed event )Level 3 ($ 200.00 purse for best time, plus FREE 3 month membership to the park.
Snoopy Falls Hill Climb (timed event) Best time gets FREE 3 month membership to the park.

Maybe more if we can get more volunteers to marshal more trails and serve as timers.

Drag racing - near parking B
Obstacle Coarse - near parking B

Come early to run the trails before the event.

CAMPING INCLUDED, Friday & Saturday night
Weekend Driver Package $ 50.00
Includes driver, 2 day ride, camping and Saturday night meal.

Team Support / Spectators / Guests pay $ 30.00 for both days. Children 6-12 are $15.00 (Includes Saturday meal) under 5, free.
Members receive $10.00 off each category above if they participate.

Well it sounds fun. We have been there so much though. It might be fun to try someplace new.

If people are going to Tree's then we need to start planning this. We need to reserve and prepay our weekend. There is a 75 truck limit.

I'll post this in the Tree's thread.

I'm in for Saturday at Boulder Creek. Day trip only. Sorry, no camping until it's crisp and cool at night.

I'll go wherever. Marble Falls is probably best for me since I am not sure when I will be returning from CA. Who is camping?

I'll bring gerbils if you'll bring a couple of wet towels. Max can bring the tape.

Also, In camping B there IS hot showers in that building we always drive by. The weekend is $50 for driver, $30 for non-drivers...not bad. Also, I will be kicking Josh's a$$ in the drag racing event, just so ya'll know. That is all.

It's $50.

We can do the drag race by parking B and the hill climb up Snoopy Falls.

Well it looks like we are going to Boulder Creek for Labor day. Sign up now.

I will sponsor a Friday night campers cocktail party. Requests for the Midnight Movie (other than Josh's "Beef Log: The LC chronicles")?

Best in Show would be an excellent choice but I doubt most people would get the dog show humor. I've got a great classic: Blazing Saddles by Mel Brooks!

Everyone's a critic

How about The Notebook?

I'm ok with anything except scary movies.

Perfect to give me a heart attack. So does that mean The Holiday is out???

There is a list out there of movies that have cruisers in them. Maybe we should pick one of those.

I don't think I will be able to go . But...

Why not Mad Max or Mad Max II: The Road Warrior?

Nobody can ever get sick of those movies and they will be encouraging to the other timid drivers in the group .

Jaybird ("Other Rodeo") recommended an offroad movie/documentary on Texas off road trails....could be interesting. I think it's called Texas Run of the Ultimate Adventure...or something like that...
