How about a wrench day before months end?

It looks like there are lot of us are thinking of or actually going somewhere for memorial day. I think were going to Boulder creek , therefore this could be an oppurtunity to do a final check/prep job on your rig.

I have a new Aussie Locker sitting in a box that id like in before the trip. There has to be something for everyone to tweak, install or at least clean cough(kelly) cough.

Ideas?

It's too hot for me to do any car work. Yeah I'm a baby. IF I have the day free and you guys hit a snag (a very big one) I might come by.

I think it would be pretty crowded at his place if Josh wanted to put in a locker. Not to mention Reapers lack of quality supplies and that Josh has never tried to pull a diff out could mean it might not be done by day's end.

Acutally tell you what Josh, when you chose to do that locker give me a call. I'll see if I can come by after you get the diff out and walk you through what needs to be done as far as the locker install. I won't break my rule of sweating my ass off working on someone else's junk though, so don't expect me to get dirty in the least bit. Well maybe a freak cool front will come in and you'll be in luck.

Nathan I thought of that but being im a one or two mechanic i didn;t want to attempt this all across the city and hit a snag. I've never pulled off a diff before, for all i know it could be filled with jelly beans.

Ben did you start to feel a little sympathy for the little noob? You know ill do all the hard stuff, im not afraid to get dirty...hell im already greasy. whats your schedule like this fri, sat, sun? Im free these days and can start on it friday. I already have the side gear thurst washers in different sizes from yota for the install. That and lube but i always have plenty of lube

Is the diff as dirty as the birfs???

I can't cook nearly as well as Jen but I can whip up a mean batch of trail coffee.

I have several little projects but if it is as muggy as it has been I could care less about getting them done. My temp gage went up to 188 today

Sorry I'll be tied up all weekend. It's not a big deal though, just follow the directions closely and make sure to use the feeler gauges to check the two clearances. If you do it and hit a snag give me a call, I'll try and answer my phone but I can't promise.

Isn't installing a locker a fairly big job? This doesn't sound like a "tune-up, tweak" session before labor day weekend. This sounds like a 15 hour, sweaty, shit we don't have the right parts, kind of event.

Josh, you don't need that fancy locker for your truck. You kicked ass at the power lines with out a locker.

If people want to change oil or fluids, I'm down for that.

Naw carrier drop in lockers are maybe a 6hr job for some like Josh taking it slow and referencing the instructions. There really is not any needed parts, even the side gear shims Josh ordered aren't usally needed in different sizes. Just follow the directions to the T and everything will be fine.

Is that a pick up line?

Depending on what happens this weekend I will be under, on, or in my truck for the most part. I got a freakin laundry list of shit i want done soon; coolant system flush, cb install, temp gauge mod blah blah. I also need to wax on, wax off it. I dont think she's feeling the love lately.

Man, I could use some wax too. Let me look at my domestic schedule. Maybe we can get together and knock some of this stuff out.
