Cleaning up After the beach clean-up

I need suggestions for cleaning up my truck after the latest beach run. My dogs woke me up in the middle of the night distressed. When I switched on the light, the headliner in my 80 was covered in mosquitoes. I did not think it through and just started smashing them with my shoe. The result is that my headliner is covered in BIG blood splotches. Disgusting. I wish it were vinyl like the 40. What is the best way to clean it?

Screens for the windows has moved to the top of the list for mods.

Kelly

Sure it was mosquito's. Call the SAPD crime lab and have them send out a crew to clean up the "mosquito blood" Sounds like the chupacabra to me....

Do a google search. there's tons of info for cleaning blood stains from fabric.

And it's all yours and your dog's blood!

Doesn't tonic water do the trick? Not sure how it would do on a headliner . . .

One of my ridgebacks would split his ear leather every winter and when he flapped his head, blood would spray all over the walls. It looked like a murder scene. I used to think that if my husband went missing I would have some 'splaining to do. On CSI the luminol stuff worked even after they painted over the walls

I have about 20 bites, the dogs have more so probably all ours. At least I have cootie-free splotches, lol.

I have a few things that will take out blood but I am worried about ending up with a bunch of clean spots. I was thinking about using a carpet steamer and clean the whole thing. Or taking it out and cleaning it.

Maybe I should sell it and buy a Yaris

Honda???

I used to hose down the inside of the 40 when I got home from the beach. Maybe I should buy the AC kit for it and drive it. I should be able to get enough for the 80 to just about cover it

Aren't the later model 80-series the ones with formed roof liners? If so, then just pull it and have it steam cleaned like a carpet. The earlier 80's had stretched fabric as liners and were a pain in the ass to work with.

This sounds like something I can manage. I will try pulling it out. I have a steam cleaner and a big ol' box of oxy clean. Worst case I will have to call CDAN for replacement clips, right?
