This is probably a dumb question, but why yellow lenses?

Cuts through foul weather better. Also works better for me because of my vision.

Seems that there are, according to two optimologists, prisms in my eyes. Bright lights are good for the roof for long distances ahead, but right in front of me the white light doesn't work as well as yellow. Blinds me a little. The yellow then has two purposes. First, it cuts down on the blinding, and second it helps in bad weather conditions.

I got Pictures.......

My cruiser with DGPS Beacon Receiver on front with the DGPS whip/spring installed. You can also see my K40 CB antenna on the rear of the roof...

Here's a shot from the back....

The 5" magnet mount.... this is a BIG, BAD magnet... it NEVER moves!

Another picture of the magnet mount with my hand there to see size comparison...

The stock 'street' GPS/DVD player etc... Worthless off road.....

Lowrance Global Map 100 GPS (Off)....

Position Aquired (GPS)...

I flip the DGPS Beacon Receiver switch...

DGPS Acquired....

Corrections screen/DGPS status, Signal strength etc....

Location of mount.....

Another view of the mount......

I was wondering if this was a L-C Modification thread and not a deep sea diving thread!
Nice GPS -- do you have a photo of it mapping?

No, I didn't really think it was relevent, as I was just pointing out the 'extra' DGPS feature. It doesn't have 'topo' style maps in it if that is what you're talking about, this is an older model GPS. It does have major thoroughfares like 410, I10, 281 etc. There was also some mapcreate software you could buy for it at one time which brought in street details but I never bothered with it. Primary use for this gem is off road, and it works perfectly. It works so well, I have two of them. I have seen newer GPS units loose signal when mine was still working fine. The DGPS just helps out a lot in inclement weather situations.

I will try to get a photo of 'mapping' today. I am going over to a friends to help him install a tailgate lock (with key!) on his Tacoma.

Here's the Range Rover..... Sitting with two flat tires. Read earlier posts. My son ordered up 4 new rover steel wheels to go on this tonight, so he's taking SOME responsibility. The tires were going to be replaced anyway, but I had expected to do that in about two months, not NOW.

Front right tire.... notice the bulge in the wheel just below the HOLE......

Right rear tire..... also with a hole....

ahhh so that explains why you want 3 yellow LF 240s on the front. You know you can put yellow bulbs in the HIDs too right?

Yeah, but the farther out light from the roof lights doesn't bother me. It's only the close range where I have problems with too bright a white light. Yellow is good for weather too

So it's gonna be the 3, Lightforce 240s on the front bumper, and 4 HID lamps on the rack.

Thanks for dropping by my thread 1loudLX

Now that's funny.... I like muff diving as much as the next guy.

The lights and bumper will be a little while off. First is the gear change, and ARB install. However, I am trying to get a rack I want right now for the roof. That will set me back a few bucks, but I need to get that squared away quickly.

I changed my mind on the rear bumper. I am going to go with the Slee rear bumper because it has the tire centered, and doesn't block the lights like the Kaymar/ARB rear bumper. Besides I don't need just one 5 gal can of gas, I usually carry 2-3 depending on how long I figure I will be away from the pump.

With the roof rack, I can carry a lot of fuel up top if I want, so that will keep it out of the rear hatch area of the cruiser. I can't smell anything, but my wife always smells some fumes.

Water will still be carried inside the vehicle.

Can't see any of the pictures so I'll just have to see it in real life!

Where do you wheel round these parts? How was the Big Bend trip?

When are you going back to work?

Through a MUD friend I got a lead on an Inti rack for my Cruiser. I ordered it up and it should be here soon. I wasn't going to go with a roof rack til later, but this was the last Inti rack in the US, so I had to do it now. I was informed that I'll be the only guy on the planet that has an Inti roof rack on a 100 series LC. Staggering haha... I am attaching it to the roof with ARB rack mounts since the gutter mounts don't work on my vehicle.

I had hell trying to pay for the roof rack. The dealer who sold it to me asked to use PayPal, and I had done this a couple of times in the past without problem. However this time PayPal refused to do a transaction with ANY of my credit cards. PayPal can kiss my ass, I have so much credit available there was no excuse to deny a transaction. So I closed my PayPal account and told them goodbye. I was on the computer and telephone with PayPal for THREE HOURS trying to do a transaction. I then went to the bank and got a couple of money orders and overnight shipped them. I guess the post office is good for something occasionally!

I made the kid buy 4 new wheels for the Range Rover. They arrived here today.... black steel wheels, in 16" so we can get some decent tires for it. Anyway, the Rover is now backed into the driveway, and I am making him wait a few months haha. I am planning to buy some coils and shocks off a friend who is going higher on his rover. So I get the other coils and shocks on, then we put new tires on these wheels and slap em on the RR. He's going to be on pins and needles, wringing his hands til all this materializes. I am enjoying every minute too....
