Meeting this week, 3/13

Time for another monthly meeting this week. Shall we have it at Long Horn Cafe again? I enjoyed the quiter part room last time.

We'll also be going over the bylaws one more time before we go TLCA.

Well if there are no objections to having it there again then I can go ahead and reserve it tomorrow. I'd also opt to make this our primary meeting location. Seems everytime we hold meetings there we have a good turn out.

7pm for everyone, right?

Sounds good to me, I'll actually be there

I did my first 'modification' to the new 100 - K40 CB antenna with high tension magnet mount and spring. I am going to look into getting a carpet (professional one) type cover for my dash and build a small enclosure for my Cobra CB to go on the dash itself. I might call up a friend of mine who is a professional wood worker and have him build it.

Look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting. I'll be leaving for West Texas - Big Bend area on Friday. We're hitting Big Bend, Terlingua, Marfa, Alpine, Davis Mountains, and of course will be going to the Star Party at MacDonald Observatory.

Bringing an old 4 wheeling friend of mine along. He currently doesn't have a 4wd, but I am hoping he will get the 'fever' when he sees all the Cruisers at the meeting. He is vasilating between a Nissan Xterra and a Toyota 4 Runner....... Needless to say, I am trying to gently nudge him towards the Toyota.

Cool deal...... Let's all try to park back off to that one side and get a line up going.
If we get too many people, we might just have to move to another location

Ends up, I am bringing two guys along..... Neither have 4 wheel drives at the moment. It only takes a small flame to get a bonfire going however..... heh heh.... One's name is Brian, and he and I have done a good bit of wheelin together over the years. He's always been a Nissan guy though. I have been trying to convert him to Toyota for the longest time. He would look at some obstacles and say "Impossible" and I'd get right on through, up and over, etc with my old FJ40 (open diffs). Those were the days wheelin spots were still numerous in SA, and you didn't always have to look out for the cops either. Fun days.

Dennis is a truck driver - 18 wheeler, long haul. I dunno if he's ever had a 4wd or not. He's a cool guy though and willing to try just about anything. He's supposed to ride along with us tonight as well.

I'm gonna dig through my back room.. I want to find something from my 'old' wheelin days to bring along if I can find it....

Great turn out.... I forgot to go digging for that ICON of the past to bring along. We had so many people it was off the hook.. I think the 40s out numbered the 80s, and everyone out numbered my 100. At least I am in good company, everyone out numbered Jen as well

Why would you go to China when you can go to Padre? What kind of illegal stuff are you up too? Is this some kind of international cock fight? Can I get in on it?

Find out how those little pop-up timers work that are inserted into most Thanksgiving Turkey's. Then find out about the cock fight.
