Differential Repair this weekend 2/23

It looks like Adam's differential is in need of a new pinion spacer and carrier shims. We're going to try and set it up this Saturday. While we are at it, I'm going to try and finish up my sub tank install. Anyone else is welcome to come by to enjoy the company, food and drink. Most likely it won't be a super time like this past weekend nor the amount of work but a good opertunity to see differential work done for those of you who are curious.

Just think how much better camping will be when we get that CB installed.

What do you have left to do with the CB?

I said this in your camping thread, but you should come by Josh and we can also put in that speedometer gear.

I think our illustrious chef might be in need of some wrenching on her zoo. I bet she could easily be convinced to come on by and cook for us. She may also be the proud owner of a real truck by this weekend

Kelly

edit: I will bring the coffee

I always liked the Wilson antennas better than the firestiks. However, it's a personal choice. If you have a CB with built in SWR meter calibration, it's a snap to get the antenna/CB tuned correctly. Magnetic mount antennas will scratch up the roof of your cruiser..... Just my two cents dude. If no roof rack, could go with a bumper mount....

My garage doesn't really like non-Toyotas setting in it. I suppose I could sweet talk it if we're just doing brakes and you're making amazing grilled food again.

Are we going to do Kelly's birfields blind folded this weekend?

I like that trade! I hope your garage doesn't spit my truck out onto the street. Maybe I'll put a Toyota sticker on the zoo to fake it out.

I think doing Kelly's birfields blind folded will make an awesome youtube!!

Ben and Brett's Blindfolded Birfield Bonanza?

Does anyone have a video camera? I'm in if you are up to it, I just need to order the parts.

Kelly

Oops, I overlooked this. I don't mind doing this again, as long as I'm not cleaning the grease mess. Turning a wrench is cake. I don't have much to clean parts in so if Brett could bring that large silver bucket. I can make up another parts list for you. Would we need to re-pack the wheel bearings also?

I just wanted to ask everyone to please come out. We had a most excellent time this past weekend and it looks to be the same. We most likely will be doing Kelly's birfields which is a large job but would be significantly quicker with some more hands. Though I don't want to discourage anyone from bring thier truck to work on. If there is somehing of minor consequence please feel free, we can have a better measure if we know how many are willing to show.

Does anyone mind stepping up for the drinks? I'll work with Jen on the food and of course "ingredients" for the harder beverages are on me.

I don't think the wheel bearings were done either. It has 160k. I will order the parts this afternoon. Also, what cleaning stuff? I know we used diesel and brake cleaner on Brett's. Anything else? Oh and this time I will bring a mask. That stuff made me dizzy.
