Pardon my ignorance but is that the “thing” coming out of the front of the bumper? What exactly does a stinger do?

The stinger in the pic really isn't tall enough.....but the Design is to protect the front grill and hood from damage in case of a roll over.

Come on brett are you serious
 what does a stinger do? Its makes your truck fly we all know that. No really its for protecting the front end when come down steep hills or for when you are crawling on you slide of a rock it keeps your junk from getting trashed. Think sliders for the front end. Plus they really look cool, like that really matters

Ahhhh...I'm with you now. Makes sense I guess. I used the heck out of my sliders over the weekend so I can value the stinger concept.
