Ideas

I was talking offline (in PM) with one of the other ACLC members and he and I agree that maybe we should try to institute a Tech Day - once a month would probably be sufficient. I know I brought this up before, but most clubs have this sort of support for all the members where everyone gathers together to help modify each others rig when they get parts in to do the mod. I know I don't show up much (not at fault for that but anyway!) but would still like to see things like this discussed at meeting(s). As well, possibly discuss the logo for the club sticker. If we can't design it, at least come up with some ideas and hand it to someone in the TLCA who can bring it into reality.

Questions, comments, concerns....? More ideas to be discussed?

My experience thus far is that everyone has been very supportive and helpful with my tech stuff. I plan on digging in to the 40 soon so I am sure that I will be asking for even more help then. I'm very flexible so I have no opinion one way or another on setting a specific day each month. I'll probably be there either way asking umpteenth questions.

As far as the logo goes, we did discuss it at the meeting and more offline. I think the gist of it is that we do have plenty of ideas and rough sketches. Any type of decals etc. will need the design to be properly formatted otherwise known as a set-up fee. Jen and I are trying to get a friend to work on it for free or at least dinner

When you say turn it over to the TLCA, does that mean they have a graphic artist that will do it for free once we are members?

I am always available to talk to for tech stuff, and when time comes if I am in town I will turn wrenches as well.

Sounds like you and Jen are hot on the trail.... As far as the TLCA goes, what I meant is that there are plenty of TLCA clubs out there who know a member of TLCA who can do the stickers, and we might possibly check into that.

Hahaha! I get it now. Actually we have several local sources for the stickers if that is what you are into. We do need the artwork created in a format they can use though. Someone suggested putting the design (once finalized) onto one of the printing websites so that folks could print it out on whatever they wanted.

My sense is that there is not enough interest to run anything in quantity and that it would be better to do one-offs.

Jen is going to run something for us to take with us to the Jamboree. Not sure if it will be vinyl or something else. I have some magnets I have been messing with but if the weather stays like this they will not survive the drive up.

How about just a simple die-cut decal of the name "Alamo City Land Cruisers"? This way we don't have different logos floating around and adding any confusion when we finally get one.

I cant make the drawing I made come out here but it is just the name centered under a simple graphic. If you are going to the Jamboree I will show you.

As far as decals, your idea should be quite easy to get produced.
