New Rig

As Brett probably already knows, I got a 100 series today. I traded my FJC in on it. I loved the FJC, but the issues arising from the very early imports (mine was one of those) drove me to a point where I had to make a decision for my own piece of mind. No locker, but I have traction control, and CDL. I'll install ARB air lockers front and rear later. It came with some pretty decent tires.

I knew about your purchase before you left the parking lot. Very nice rig. What exactly was the issue with the FJ Cruiser?

I didn't have any issues, but the earlier imports like mine have R&P gears that weren't properly treated so they can shear under too much pressure etc. At ANY time from what I have noticed. So I figured I cannot afford to risk being stranded, and Toyota isn't recalling the earlier FJC's so what the hell, just replace the vehicle with something which doesn't have problems. I got a sweet deal on the 100.... my payments are only $70 more a month over the FJC. Came with all the toys too - in dash GPS, rear backup camera and all that crap we all love. Gotta tear out those rear jump seats now.... No toddlers in my family.

I'm not sure. I think they are at least as big as my 'old' FJ tires, which were 32. I think these are as large, or larger, and definitely more aggressive. I'll go out with a flash light and check on that. Bout time you got rid of those 'donut tires' you had

I just get tired of the bull$hit arguments about SFA. To each their own, I happen to like both, and do not feel SFA is superior.

I say that Tori is a great guy to get along with in person but I think he takes things the wrong way online. It would seem to me txlawman is just poking some fun and whatever.

Personally most guys forget how limited the SFA LC's where off the line. Infact the flex of the IFS LC's probably match the wheel travel numbers of the older LC's. Apples to apples, all stock the IFS 'cruiser are no less limited than the SFA. There is just more ease in making a monster out of a SFA.

I'm still waiting on the IFS and IRS 'cruiser to come out. I don't doubt Toyota's capabilty to build one with decent wheel travel numbers. The ride would be nice and traction control would keep it moving. Speaking of which, traction control in many cases is better than lockers. This comming from a guy that's had the front locker slide him sideways. Traction control would never let this happen.
