Post Impromptu wheeling and camping trip to Bouldercreek, Dec. 29

I know it’s short notice but there’s a small group of us in San Antonio that are planning on wheeling Saturday, Dec. 29th at Boulder Creek OHV Park in Marble Falls, TX. We’ll also be camping Saturday night on the 750 tract. The day should be pleasant but it will be cold at night so bring that good sleeping bag and a dog or two to keep you warm. Campfires are allowed as long as you build or bring a fire ring so we should be plenty warm.

Join us for the day and/or a campout and feel free to bring the family!

We'll depart San Antonio mid-Saturday morning if you want to caravan up.

A Change Of Plans

OK, there’s been a change in plans. There is currently a fire ban in Burnet County so we’re ditching the idea of going to Boulder Creek and going to Padre Island instead. It’s a bit cold to camp without a camp fire. If anyone is interested, drop me a line and I’ll give you the details.

I just got back from there. The weather was fantastic! Overcast yesterday but warm. Hardly any wind. The rangers made us put our fire out at 8 last night because of a fire ban but it was warm enough to sit outside without a coat. It rained a bit overnight but was clear and sunny all day today.
Shorts and flips flops on the beach in December. Awesome

Yeah that's pretty retarded for sure. I wish we would have went. Next time you guys post the change (to a different destination) separately!

I love cruising the beach on Padre. Did you all take that 4wd road to the right at the 15 mile marker to the little alcove I spoke of before? That's a great spot down there to hang out. Especially since it's out of the wind.

I KNOW! That is exactly what I said. I would have stayed through new years but they said the ban was in effect at least until the 2nd.

On the way out to the seashore, most of the empty fields on Mustang Island were on fire or had recently burned. It did not seem like anyone was fighting it either. Once we crossed into the national park there were no fires or burned areas.

Dude, there's so much "stuff" on the beach, you won't notice a few fire crackers.
