the FJ cruiser trail team was there and they had 5 of them there. I got to wheel the thing through tipover challenge. pretty neat car, absolutely no feedback in the controls. you can't hear the thing run, theres no feel through the pedals, steering wheel or suspension. you push the pedal down and the front makes a bunch of clicking noises and it just goes up stuff, very strange.
drove the HJ61 out there with an open 3.73 gearset in the rear and drove about 70-75 mph. put 4.88's with air locker in the front before we left and took another 4.88 air locked third out with us and installed it in the rear axle at tom woods shop the day we got there and wheeled with 4.88's for the week (52 mph at 3000 rpms). it took about 30 minutes to switch it out. before we left we swapped the 3.73's back in for the drive home, worked sweet. full floating rear axles are nice.
got denied on hells gate again, no biggie. awesome 2 wheel drive wheel stand that almost flipped me over. it popped out of 4 on the way down into the hole and I didn't catch it until i was almost flipped over coming out. traction out there is unbelievable.
took the overloaded wagon up moab rim in the dark with 4 people after the brewery with andy leading in his buggy, bad bad idea, really bad idea. thats a scary sidehillin' over the edge to certain death mofo. thought I heard my rear tire de-beading but it was a figment of my over paranoid imagination at the time...
delivered an 80 bumper and installed it in camp. the new bumper on my 61 saved its ass multiple times.
went on cliffhanger and had lunch on the cliffs. 2000 feet to the bottom is pretty crazy, like a roadrunner cartoon. we had a sweet paper airplane contest. KC won with his neo circular flippy little hoop plane. it disapeared into the sky after about 10 minutes of going straight up.
more pics coming...

I hate it when I run a trail with someone I would like to know from the we/Cruiser community and I do not end up knowing who they are until after the fact :(

Yes, first 5 minutes ever at Moab and i'm having a little trouble getting up that ledge. Then I get a cascade cruiser club member get on the c.b. telling me "give it some gas", boy did I Launched my cruiser in the air and landed on my rear tire still in gear.

Dang Luke, thats crazy. Moab Rim during the day is not fun, night run is nuts. I took my HJ61 up there 3 years ago and thats the last time for that run.

Nice rig Christo, the body looks so factory you never would guess it was custom built.

Thanks to Rising Sun and especially the CM Comittee. I think the event has grown and lot and the management of the event was excellent. Being a trail leader and issued a Satelite Phone was probably a first on any organized TLCA events and much appreciated. It makes the worries of the unforseen in the back country a lot less.
Had a great run with a great group including many of the Norcal guys. Looking forward to hanging on the beach at S&T.

I took Julie and the kids to the top on Thursday night in the 100 series after scouting it in the Buggy. There is only one tough spot on the whole trail and I got very lucky and walked right up it. It was still light, but I think night would be easier on those that don't like drop-offs.

Maybe it's just me but if you are selling your Moab photos maybe you should be posting this in the vendor section instead of the CM06 photos thread.

I'm not against this. I appoligize if I have misposted. This seemed like a logical place to post. No one has to buy to view. Further, if anyone has shots of me I'd be happy to trade if I have some of you.

Forums like this are for sharing.... ideas, information, tech tips, photos, videos, etc. I respect your efforts to make money selling your photos but if everyone on 'Mud took your approach (trade or buy) then these forums would quickly die. [e.g. I'll tell you how to replace starter contacts for $10]
The vendor sections are for those who choose to attempt to make money selling us their stuff.
BTW, I saw your 4-Runner at Moab and really like the Exo-cage. Nicely done!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... you don't HAVE TO buy anything to view the pictures. I don't feel this is out of the realm of how you do things here at IH8MUD. The only difference is if you'd like to purchase some you have that option too. Again, nobody HAS to buy anything to view... BTW Thanks for the props on the cage. It has been a fun project.

chad, i think it's probably in the presentation. i appreciate the chance to view the photos but i think the philosophy of mud is that the plug for your commercial venture has to be subordinate to providing something of interest or value to mudders for free so you need to pitch it that way. maybe next time say something like "I am selling my photos of CM06 but if you don't mind a watermark you may enjoy flipping through them free of charge..." i's a pretty grey area but that's my take on forum decorum

Gotcha, again I appoligize for my capitalist presentation (although I didn't think "your viewing and purchasing pleasure" was a huge plug for sales). I will adjust accordingly.

John,
The hitch is now with Tobascofish, the bike rider that was in my truck at Moab.
