Thanks, wesintl. I'm afraid I wasn't clever enough to figure out how to cancel out the paypal part. Did not want to wait to register, did so today, hoping details can be worked out in due time.

http://risingsun4x4club.org/cruisemoab.asp is where the official information is. I included the information below but double check in case something has been updated or changed.

One of the best parts of Cruise Moab is hanging out at the campground after a great day of wheeling. The cottonwoods were a real pain last year and one of the reasons for the move to Spanish Trails Campground. I'll be staying at the campground and I hope others will as well. From what I know, Rising Sun is actively working with the owner's of the campground. There has been some issues with reservations but the Cruise Moab committee is aware and should have everything ironed out soon.

Information provided by Matt aka Hulk:

Cruise Moab 2006 Dates
Wednesday, May 3rd - Sunday, May 7th, 2006

Where:
Spanish Trail RV Park
2980 S. Hwy 191
Moab, UT 84532
(435) 259-2411
(800) 787-2751
e-mail: camp@spanishtrailrvpark.com

www.spanishtrailrvpark.com

She needs to be out of town on Jan. 22nd - 25th...

$18.00 + tax per night for tent camping
$26.00 + tax for an RV spot
multiple tents can share an RV Site at the normal tent site rate/per tent **this is different that what the flier says**
No individual fires are allowed but we can use the the fire place north of the Pavilion.

Click here to get a 2-page PDF with information and a site map of the campground.

I've made reservations for a tent space on Spanish Trail Campground. They told me that they only had a few more spots available for people that want to camp and are taking their pooches with them. Just a heads up.

Regards

Alvaro

An RV site (for an RV reservation) is $26 per night for the site.

Question for the Rising Sun folks. Where are we going to park trailiers? At the Cottonwood Campground we used to park in the back of the lot next door. Will there be any provisions for trailer parking at Spanish Trails?

Thanks

no matter what camping turns out to be like, moab will be the time of your life!!! there's nothing as cool as hanging wth the mud cruiserheads that you are constantly chatting with, but never have really met.

Signed up at Spanish Trail this morning - the women said there is jeep group also staying there that week so she could not define the exact site number...

PS we'll be the ones with the chili lights and dueling iPods

Thanks for the heads up Alvaro

Boy,

Nice lady on the registration desk....

I finally got through today after trying on and off for a week.

All the tent sites are gone, I had to get an RV site. Oh well, I have a cargo trailer anyway and that may have been tough to deal with in a tent site.
At least we have a spot....

Tell me about it.
And I got lucky. I spoke to her just when she had come back from vacation. I would not like to talk to her now.

It was unbelievable....after trying for a week (like everyone else) I finally got through and she told me to call back later....got through later and she told me I had to call the 800 reservation line (too which there is never an answer).....I called back the third time and she finally took my reservation "just to stop me from calling again". Exactly, this event is a whole lot more than the person who runs the campground, it's great to see everyone signing up and taking a shot at the unknown. No matter what we will find a way to have a great time, that is a guarantee!

Registration is up over the half-way mark now, so if any of your friends haven't signed up yet tell them to get on it- also we just acquired a major camping enhancing device today for the RS site..

I don't know what's wrong with all you other guys...

I called the 800 number, gave them my date of arrival, let them know when I'm leaving, gave a CC number to hold the spot. She asked the type of RV, I told her, the number of people in my group...told her that.

DONE.

No hassles, no arguements, no attitude...

I had no argument. It just seemed she was very put out to have to deal with people. Everybody in retail gets that way from time to time, myself included, but she seemed to have it honed pretty well...

Besides, she prolly has a camera phone and decided she better be nice to you.......

Ditto, only I had got myself so worked up about the possible attitude that I gave her all the pertinent info(cc card, vehicle, kids, etc) I forgot our names. Well she said we had a spot, couldn't tell us which one, and she has my cc. I do have some doubts about her booking procedure, however I probably should have doubts about my scheduling skills. Really looking forward to the trip.

We are already about 2/3 full, and it's not even February yet. Most registrations
have been via our online registration at:

http://www.risingsun4x4club.org

We've only gotten a handful via snail mail. So, if you want to be sure to get in,
make sure you register now! Dates are Wednesday May 3rd through Sunday May 7th. Wednesday is registration and safety inspections, Thursday is trail runs, Friday is trail runs and the banquet/raffle (held at Bar-M again), Saturday is trail runs, and Sunday is clean-up and head home.

As a reminder, we have a new base camp, Spanish Trail RV Park, which is on the south end of town. It's near the Spanish Trail Arena, where we traditionally meet for Steelbender.

www.spanishtrailrvpark.com

Please tell Jeff and Gena that you are with Cruise Moab when you make your reservations. We are hoping that this will be an improvement from Slickrock Campground.

We have FOUR Toyota FJ Cruisers coming to the event. There is some scuttlebutt that you *might* get a chance to drive one on the trail. We'll see. At a minimum you'll get an up-close-and-personal chance to see one going through it's paces: see TLCA President Alan Loshbaugh's exclusive article and exclusive photos on the FJ Cruiser doing the Rubicon in the current issue of Toyota Trails. The Toyota FJ teams will be based with us in Spanish Trail RV Park, and yes, they will have to go through our world-famous Cruise Moab safety inspections just like every other other participant :-)

I got stuck with trail assignments again this year, so if ya got a complaint...TOUGH...J/K We do our best to make everybody happy, but our BLM permit stipulates no more than 20 rigs per trail per day. First come, first served. If you're willing and able to lead any trails, please fill out the volunteer form on the web site and send it in to me or any of the other CM contacts. Leaders and gunners get cash rebates, and special consideration for the trails they want to run.

On a final note, if you can't make Cruise Moab, please consider the many other TLCA sanctioned events coming up this year. If memory serves, RMLC's River Shiver is right around the corner...

Happy cruisin'!
