4WD Clubs in Costa Rica

Hello there! I am a tico looking to see if there are any other ticos in this group and if there is a 4WD club that I can be a part of in San Jose. I have 0 experience, but 100 % entusiasm and desire to learn (so I will be a leech to start off - like I hope many of us sometimes have to be :-) ). Estoy en Tamarindo y sin ningun club, pero si encuentras algo, haga un 'post' aqui porque me gustaria ir tambien.

There was a group in San Jose (Escazu, actually) that had a couple of Jeeps painted Zebra colored. The owner actually drives a 40 series. Not sure if they are still in business or not.

Also- check with Purdy motors on Paseo Colon. I think that there is a club that operates out of there.

I think the Toyota Dealership there in San Jose sponsors a club. I was doing some research on traveling down in Costa Rica and came across the club. I can't remember the name of the dealership. Good Luck.

I don't have anything helpful to add except that I really enjoyed Costa Rica last July. My wife and I spent 10 days in a rented Jeep from Manuel Antonio, Jaco, Punterenas, Volcan Arenal. Saw so many nice Cruisers that I had to import a BJ70 when I got back. Awesome country with great people.

Sand cruiser, like the web site and i check it every week. Maybe if we drive to costa rica we can get together. we want to drive from miami to Panama; laters.....

Hola Sergio .. el Club 4x4 Extremo es un grupo de gente muy simpatica .. ponte en contacto con ellos Chiri ( Efraín ) su webmaster ( que también es miembro ) seguro te orientará ..

Ellos están viniendo en noviembre proximo a Panamá para hacer un ride de unos tres días, en donde va a haber good mud wheeling .. pero no para novatos.

I am going to Panama on the 15 - 22. I will be traveling with my new wife for our honeymoon in an LC Prado that we are renting. Do you have any recomendations? We want to visit some nice beaches and probably some rain forest. We have toured Costa Rica 2 times and love it there as well. One time near Monteverde I saw a group of LC's, one was a SOA Troopy that I saw many times. If you have any recomendations for Panama that would be awesome! We are just flying down there and renting a car, dont have any sort of plan.
