This event was my hook line and sinker last year. Brought me into the world of TLC. If you haven't been to S and T you should do yourself a favor and come out. One of the greatest if not the great event of the year.

Sam

I never knew my truck could fly until Surf and Turf, just look at my icon. Thank you Jim for putting it together.

welcome!

and yes, no problem. After some experimentation I ended up doing most of it in Hi with the CDL locked. Didn't use the end lockers. Street tires are probably better than offroad tires for the sand too.

In short-yes, with no issues. Lockers do not help in the sand-the traction is always equally bad at all 4 wheels. The power of the 80 will keep you moving. I took my unlocked 60 last year and had a blast. No power up the dune faces, but just fine everywhere else. Pismojim and crew put on a fine event. I'll go in Thursday again to help set up. That was huge fun last year and I don't care if it rains or not. This is one of the best events of the year, don't miss it.

Absolutely! I do have lockers on a stock truck (as least it was stock last year), but never used them. Stock is fine. Just air down the tires to 15psi as recommended and you won't have any problems at all.

I'll echo Sam's comments about last year's SnT being my introduction to the TLC world of get togethers. Great time, greater bunch of people! I'll be there.

Count us in! I'm still debating whether or not to bring the 100 or the 80. Of course I'll have to EARN the privelege to bring the 100 in the sand

Hey Jim, are you going to warn those Pozo clowns that you mean business this time? At least they didn't run out of beer

He did last year and the poor lady had a few employees 'call in sick' and we just overwhelmed her.

Went back this summer after visiting Ken Hanna and sampled the tri tip sandwich - very good!

I don't know how well you can see my little icon thingy, but that is my 80 last SnT unlocked, no lift, running board bone stock, with 5 in the truck. I Got all 4 wheels off the ground multiple times jumping off the dunes, plenty of power, too much fun, but I'll let you be the judge of that. I'm interested to see how the truck does with the OME on there.

I was out at Pozo yesterday and talked to the owner. They felt very bad about not being prepared for us last year. As you know even if they are prepared it's a small kitchen and can be slow.

The solution is our own BBQ out back instead of ordering off the menu. Expect the basic Pozo BBQ, tri-tip sandwiches, beans, etc. It will be MUCH faster and very tasty. Of course the gallon jars of cold beer and olives aren't bad either.

Hey Jim,

Believed it or not, those signs are actually 6" high by 6' ft long, and lettering is 5" high, best in bright or contrasting colors. Those signs are simply a rough cut fence panel, I brought from my local Home Depot for $3 each last year. Once I step back, the signs somehow looks so small!

If the sign comes in 3" by 3' then the 2" high letters would be unreadable from the decent distance unless you're underneath the post during relieving.

Or is it that you want smaller signs to save space for storage?

Cheers,

I think it's time for the Norcal crew to do an Iron Chef competition at S&T, secret ingredient and all.
