2nd Annual Fall Crawl at Paragon.......

OK, here's my account.....( I should be getting ready for ICBM but had rather do this )
As near as I can tell we had 5 or 6 clubs represented
Lone Star Land Cruisers
Bay to Blue Ridge
Capitol Cruisers
Va. 4x4 Ass.
Gotham City
Mechanicsville Mudders
Buckeye or Midwest (Kris was not sure on this one)

roster as best Kristie could do, please add to or correct....
Kristie Barlow (krisfj40) Va.
Butch Baker (texican) TEXAS BY GOD!!
Rob & Caroline Metzer Va.
John & Dianne Embry Va.
Cam (Smitibilt) Va.
Tim Miner Va.
Chris Barsher
(Clunky Chris) Pa.
Karl Walters Oh.
Dan Friedman ???
Bob Bascom (76FJ40) ???
Dwight Atkinson Va.
Norm & Donna Engle Va.
We also had a couple of guys from Jersey
one in a green FJ40 (cruiserhead) other a blue glass bodied 40 don't remember the names of either sorry, I'm old.......

Kris and I got to Red Ridge around dark, thurs nite, we were soon joined by Rob and Caroline, we drank until Rob's conversation got boring and I retired, Friday morning we met most all of the rest at the park, John rolled 15 minutes into the run, took an hour to get his rig on all 4's and rolling, we wheeled hard the remainder of the day with little carnage..I drove John's FJ40 equipped with the mini drivetrain, amazing lil rig........I fixed the group one of LSLC's favorite camp fodder for supper, it seemed to be a hit....shared some fine cigars I had picked in San Antonio a couple of weeks ago for this event.....Drank lots of beer, told lots of lies, cussed Junk for not showing......Sat morning found us gathered at Paragon with 16 trucks I think,, so we split into 2 groups, Chris taco'd his drag link first off, John bloke his first BF, we got it changed, then Rob broke an inner, which took out a Long, he took for-fawking-ever to change it out, took a nap waiting, Kristie then blew the hi pressure PS hose, which sidelined her a couple of hours til closing, John then broke his second of the day, despite it falling off the jack once, it was changed quickly.
With time fading, we stopped in a rock garden where smitibilt let me pilot his way capable rig til he spotted me into a wedged up fawked up mess , broke his rope twice trying to extract, his rig was leaning so far the fuel would not pickup, so Dwight tied off to the cage and leveled it, it fired and drove out........Barely made it back to the lot by closing time........
Only one guy carries a lug wrench....

Big fun, thanks guys.....

I am the bald monkey (Karl Walters) in the white 4runner above. I had a great time and should be getting a little more active here.

I enjoyed all of your company and hospitality, especially after dealing with those young guys all day!

Regarding our club, we are still working out the name and domain. so just Ohio Land Cruisers.

Cheers

Karl

Hey bald monkey guy, what are the specs on your truck? Is that a tool box half way back above the wheel wells? Looks bad ass!

Butch thanks for the play by play. Cam thanks for the spell check! I had a great time, I hope we can do this every year. As far as taking a long time swapping out the broken axle/birf oh well I thought you needed more time for lunch and watching the Jeep turtle itself and breaking stuff.
Thanks for everyone that showed up!!!!

Pics & other junk

One other note...you forgot my broken frame....doh

I am in Cincy this week but will forward pics when I get back to Richmond. Should I send them to someone for an article release first?

Also...the old man must have forgotten....WE BOTH MISSED OUR FLIGHTS ON MONDAY MORNING!!! First time it's ever happened to me in the past 5 years of being a road-warrior. I woke up at 5:45 and our flights were at 6:15....missed 1 meeting and was late to another. Good thing the client is laid back! Not sure how long Dad sat in Atlanta airport waiting on a connection.

Kris

Sure, Send them to Todd Kaderabek: todd@larkbooks.com

same goes to anyone else with good pics.

keep in mind that he WONT publish anything that's been sent to anyone else though! So keep them out of the publiuc domain if you want to see them in the trails.

Recipe................

Got a PM for the recipe, decided just to post here.
This is for the same amount we had in camp, large pot....
5 lbs potatoes, wash or peel, I like to leave the peel.
3 lbs Polish Sausage, or your favorite
Cube these into bite sized pieces
Large yellow onion, diced
Tony Chachere's Creole seasoning add to taste, and be aware it gets bit hotter as it cooks, so don't go crazy with it
http://www.tonychachere.com/

Water
Boil until taters are tender , add water as needed.....
Serve with some crackers, bread or what ever ya' have,
Enjoy.
