Southwestern Utah wheelin'...

I figured it was time to ask again... (It's been over a year)

Anyone in Southwest Utah want to go wheelin? I'm near St. George (Actually 20 miles to the north) and try to go wheelin on a regular basis. Sometimes we go trail ride. Sometimes hardcore. Sometimes we just go explore the old mining roads in the mountains which, sometimes, can turn hardcore. "We" are just a handful of local boys with some mildly modified 4x4s who like to get out and play...

Utah wheeling pics

Heya Hammerhead,

Take some hi-res shots (2MP or bigger, 1200x1600 minimum) of your Utah wheeling and send them in; I'll do a feature on Utah wheeling.

Dave

Hey! I was there over labor day weekend--saw the 40's lined up and dropped in to say "howdy". I met and talked with Tinkerswithtoys.

I was in the white chevy truck with my two sons, and wife's dad...were you in the yellow track/'kick?

That was Seth. He has the yellow tracker and the tan 40. 78 One owner drives the grey 40 with the black bra. Tink drives the white 40. The brown one with the hardtop is Jody. Mine is the green 40 with the 45 top. We had 7 Cruisers there in all.

We went wheelin' to one of my old favorite hideouts. Had a good time. Tink had a small electrical prob but the rest of the run was great. Our old swimming hole and campsight were washed out by last seasons flooding but the kids had a great time swimming there anyway.

This week we did the bottom of the Manera wash. It hasn't been attempted since all the rain and flooding this year so it was like a whole new trail. The waterfalls and ledges were taller. The holes were deeper and the narrows were v-grooved deep enough to fall into.

78 One owner, Tinkers with toys, Charlie Hummer, and myself made up this exploration run. We all suffered some minor carnage varying from crushed running boards and gouged fender on my 40 to caved in rockers and a smoked clutch on Charlies mini. Tinkers rig suffered a smashed tail light and some sheetmetal adjustments.

All in all it was a great run. We plan to try again soon in hopes of completing the trail to take a larger group.

Tinker shot some pics and hopefully will post them soon.

Yeah, I'd like to see them too!!!

Tinkers_with_toys hasn't responded to my attempts to contact him. Maybe he's mad at me about the body damage he recieved on our last run. (Just kiddin' Tink)

We are also planning a clean-up party at the Wahington Dam near the Sand Hollow OHV area...

Tentative date is Nov 5th. We will be cooperating with the local MC and ATV clubs.

Anyone interested in helping?
