OK folks, I am itching to go wheeling. But I can't figure out where
. It has to be stock friendly, ofcourse because I don't have any lift. So if you live in DC,VA,MD area and up for a FUN wheeling trip please lt me know.

riad,
i think the harrisonburg area would be the best place to go. its fun and your truck would be fine. A few people from the board made a trip there a few weeks ago and have discussed going again soon.... |

Yeah I have been into few places at Harrisburg VA. I am really up for any places. Just want to get to know and wheel with cruiser folks. I remember seeing a thread a while back about few people around here going, I couldn't make that trip, mostly because I was waiting on my tires. Any ho, let's do it folks, let's setup a time, date and all that and hit the trail. Any weekend is good for me.

Another suggestion:
Shoe Creek is another good run although it is probably 1 hour further south than H-Burg. I have done it in my stock 80 w/ no problems. Big levels is also near by but I have not driven that one and do not know how difficult it is. Camping is available at Crabtree Falls. |

Big Levels is much like Shoe Creek or a little easier. Good primitive camping is also available at the end of the Shoe Creek trail farthest from the falls.
The Pig Run is on this weekend at Rausch Creek, about 175 miles from DC. The Pig Run focuses on FJ55s, but all Toyotas are welcome. I'm taking my 40. Last year, about half the vehicles were 55s, with a selection of 40s, 60s, 80, minis, etc. The pre-run is Friday with the real "event" on Saturday. __________________ '76 FJ-40 with a Hula Girl on the dash for me and a '65 FJ-45 LPB for the wife. Looks like I have spoken too soon for Firday
. Wife has her 4Runner scheduled for dealer service all day Firday. She plans too drop it off Thursday night. My guess is she is getting it back on Friday evenining. So I have to be around to give her ride back and forth with the kids. Any way we could do it over the weekend, if not this weekend then the next? Or I am up for both this and next weekend if it's a short day trip and given the fact that I don't break any thing.

Salt shed is a fairly mild little trail that goes through some thick woods with an occasional mud hole and one water crossing. Or we could do peters mill, its a little closer in edinburg i think. Both are mild trail but still kinda fun.

keep an eye out here:
PA/MD/DE etc. iH8MUD forum the idea is to get some of us together more often. if you're in MD you can't be *that* far away... (unless you're on the shore or something )nothing planned right now. We all just got back from the pig run __________________ Chris Basehore TLCA# 4821 74 FJ40- built F, knuckles/brakes from a FJ60, Longs, 4" Pinnacle sucks big wads, mini PS, shite paint 93FZJ80 "klunky"- E-lockers, home built sliders, IronPigOffRoad bumper, CDL switch, D-less, mucho maintenance www.ILUVROCKS.com |

I guess Peter's Mill is very stock friendly trail. It has gotten tame over the years. Where is salt shed? I can't imagine it being that far away from where I am. Any one interested in going paragon? I 3rd/4th thought. I don't know if they have stock friendly trails, do they?

Paragon has so many trails you wouldn't believe it.....
and yes, they have *green* or stock trails galore. you need 3 trucks to get into the parks as a group and drive by yourselves. otherwise, keep an eye out for the 'monthly open ride' where they throw you in a group led by a Paragon trail leader. Rausch Creek is a little closer to you and a very nice park as well. We just had the east coast pig run there __________________ Chris Basehore TLCA# 4821 74 FJ40- built F, knuckles/brakes from a FJ60, Longs, 4" Pinnacle sucks big wads, mini PS, shite paint 93FZJ80 "klunky"- E-lockers, home built sliders, IronPigOffRoad bumper, CDL switch, D-less, mucho maintenance www.ILUVROCKS.com |

Oh it's now 3 trucks now for paragon? Man! It used to be two at the minimum. I thought RC is further away from Paragon. I know Paragon has many many trails. I have done may be two of the black/some other trails with my old truck last year. I know of their monthly ride, I think it's worth the money going to intermediate 2 level ride for a monthly ride, I guess a stock run could be nice too. Yeah I knew of the pig run you guys went but I just wasn't ready, I guess RC also have stock trails? Show us some pictures of the pig run. Let's put together some thing for the coming weekend, if every one's up for it

I would be up for Salt Shed / GWNF if you guys happen to come down this way (maybe even Peters Mill). My FJ80 will be down this weekend for some well-deserved maintenance. I have my 40 so I’m restricted to central Va.

I would but last time I checked my truck told me it still had a hangover.
I told the damn thing if it wasn't such an alcoholic we wouldn't have these problems.
