Big Bear Lake Trails
O.k. I know most of you are planning or getting to leave for CM.
But unfortunately, some of us cannot attend.  I will be going to Big Bear in a week or two. However, I am getting mis-information regarding trail closures and the such. Does anyone know about the trails up there currently? I know Big Bear received LOTS of snow this last winter. I have heard that almost 90% of the trails are still closed. Any information is greatly appreciated. Also, if you want to recommend any trails feel free. Thanks in advance.

I would be interested to hear what others have herd on this as well. I think much of the runs are still snow deep, could be a fun snow run... John Bull + Snow = carnage....

You could always call the Forest Service directly but as of two weeks ago I was told they were closed. I'm definitely interested in going up though.

I called them yesterday, and only a couple of roads were open. Out past Fawnskin. But I saw on another group that they ran Gold Mountain?
Just looking for first hand knowledge, hopefully. |
