Burl "The Shirtless Trail Repair Legend" only puts on a shirt when he goes into town.

You've just got bad luck with rear axles John.

I don't flog the truck, 36" Iroks, ARB. This one broke the same as my other. The splines were twisted and the stress cracks finally decided to let go in the driveway. That axle is my original 79 and has 10 years of wheeling trips on it.

Yes I have. After I install another axle today I am down to my last spare.

That is just surface rust on the adjuster, it looks bad in the picture but the rest of the diff is rust free. But you are right that I could drive the truck more often.

Here are some pictures of the stub. Back out to the driveway to install my spare.

Logged in just shy of 2,600 miles to make this trip... Bummer I missed the raffle and dinner but I was still out on the trails running through the boulder fields. It was great to meet the few that I did and some from the past GSMTR's . Hope all had a safe trip home.
