Easy intro trails in GWNF ?
I'm trying to convince my wife that when you go out your shit doesn't have to end up beat up so what are a few doable trails for a 03' Sorento[hers] ? I'm trying to get out and show her that there's more to it than more to offroading than just haulin' ass and tearin' up shit ! Hopefully scope a few hunting spots for next season, etc. ? I have the Nat.Geo Forest Service maps but I wanna make sure I pick open trails and what not. Thanks

Kephardt and Second Mountain west of Harrisonburg are all very doable in a stock vehicle. For something even easier, try Peters Mill near Edinburgh. Another option is to get on the Off Camber Crawlers mailing list and watch for a "stocker friendly" run. OCC is very active and has easy runs about once a month.

Yeah. Both of those are good trails. There is a long unmantained fire road that leads from Switzer Lake up to redish knob. The knob is a beautiful area that'd get ANYONE excited about 4x4. The lower second mountain gate is close right now (or it was sunday) so you'd have to come in on the north end (612 off of 763 I think). Dry River would be a great one when the water is down. Fairly easy little run up to Dry River Dam great place for lunch, might want to check that one out before you bring the wifey though... see what you think
PM me if you have more specific questions. I'm failry new to the trails but have run many of them. If you wanna go out for a little harder wheelin let me know too.
