UDPATE: At least 8 fires burning in L.A. County near Chino Hills
By PE News on November 3, 2009 1:00 PM | Comments (0)
Three fire-fighting aircraft and crews from two counties are battling at least eight separate fires along the boundary between Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties, fire officials say.
"It's moving in the general direction ... of homes," Chino Valley Fire District spokeswoman Massiel De Guevara said from the fire lines near Highway 60 and Peyton Street in Chino Hills.
The first reports of the fires came in at 11:52 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol Web site.
All of the fires are in areas protected by fire agencies in Los Angeles County, De Guevara said. But Chino Valley Fire District has sent six crews and Ontario Fire Department has sent one crew to help in the battle, say officials from both agencies..
Winds in the area are light, fire officials say. And no homes have been damaged.
Looks like Rob might be dragging stuff............

Anyway, lots of FREE PRIZES for the Ladies at the Saturday morning Mob Run too!
Ditto, for the kids. We're aiming at FREE PRIZES for all the little ones!

Huge Surf
For all you shredders, bring your board. Looks like the surf is gonna get huge starting Saturday afternoon. Possible double overhead conditions on Sunday morning!

On track to a NEW record!!!
A few weeks ago in October we were thinking about breaking 400.
Now, November 3, we're at 435 and still growing!

My daughters made a couple of great cruiser piñata’s for the kid zone. So if anyone has any Halloween candy leftover it would be most appreciated by the little cruiserheads.

It's been super warm, mid to high 80s, dry and clear for weeks. But it looks like it is changing from short sleeves to long sleeves and hoodies in the evening. Might be a little damp at night and mornings but......good news, calm or light winds. Saturday and Sunday might be sunny.
"THE HIGH PRESSURE WILL EXIT THE AREA TONIGHT LEAVING BEHIND THE WARM
WEATHER AND FAIR SKIES. LOW PRESSURE WILL APPROACH THE REGION ON
WEDNESDAY AND REMAIN INTO THE WEEKEND...BRINGING A COOLING TREND AND
OVERNIGHT COASTAL CLOUDS AND FOG. "

well, if we can't have embroidered caps for all, at least there should be 2:
- one for the Run champ (I won't be running so no worries)
- one for Katherine for putting up with what must surely have been a hectic time for the last coupla weeks

I have no idea what a "double overhead" means but i'm looking forward to learning to kite surf! Did that sound tough enough.... I'm actually kinda scared now.
