Trails near Santa Fe?

I need some info on 4x4 trails in the Santa Fe/Pecos/Las Vegas New Mexico areas. Anybody got some ideas, web site or places I can look? The ranger stations where kinda helpful but had no super helpful information. Anybody on this board from around that area?

Pick up a forest service map....then go explore...

You might PM CDan or Beowolf for some local info. My neck of the woods was Los Alamos/Jemez Mtns.

I've been doing some of that but the maps on the Las Vegas side have not been updated since the 1962 survey, kinda frustrating. Thanks for the info.

Talking

Here you go...

It is called the Tank trap by the locals. The trail was on the difficult side, though a very pretty area to explore.

If you have more time, you can make the ~1.5 hour drive to Mt. Blanca (southern CO), which has a fantastic trail leading all the way to a high mountain lake (~10,000 ft)

This is also a good resource:

Good luck
