Trails near Santa Fe?
I need some info on 4x4 trails in the Santa Fe/Pecos/Las Vegas New Mexico areas. Anybody got some ideas, web site or places I can look? The ranger stations where kinda helpful but had no super helpful information. Anybody on this board from around that area?

Pick up a forest service map....then go explore...
You might PM CDan or Beowolf for some local info. My neck of the woods was Los Alamos/Jemez Mtns. -H- __________________ 2003 BMW R1150GS Adventure 1983 FJ45 Troopy KE7TYL ...and then there is always Mexico.... |

Here you go...
It is called the Tank trap by the locals. The trail was on the difficult side, though a very pretty area to explore. http://www.expeditionswest.com/adven...004/tank_trap/ If you have more time, you can make the ~1.5 hour drive to Mt. Blanca (southern CO), which has a fantastic trail leading all the way to a high mountain lake (~10,000 ft) http://www.expeditionswest.com/adven...lorado_trails/ This is also a good resource: http://www.webejeepin.com/Trails/New.../Trails_NM.htm Good luck __________________ Scott Brady, Tread Lightly Master Trainer EarthRoamer XV-JP | Toyota Tacoma | Land Rover Discovery I Expedition's West Overland Journal- Expedition Magazine Expedition Portal Community |
