Xmas road trip - AZ and NM

Dudes,

The fam damily will be in the NM/AZ states beginning 12/22 - 12/31/04. Let me know if there're any trails or group things going on at that time. Love to meet up with some Mud members along the way. Defintely gonna have to drop in on Cruiserdan and Beo. Will be hitting up Kumar in KS along the way.

We're scoping out future living areas on this trip. It's between NM and CO right now. I'll be bringing the wife, two dogs and a popup camper.

Hope to see meet up with some Mudders.

Ali

Hey fellas,

Just a quick note...a big THANKS to SchottsUJ100 for showing us around in Sedona. A very sweet 100 indeedy! Also, it was nice to have met the other two fellas (Taco and LX450). Was it Seth and Mike? Anyway, I posted some pics of the trail photos, click on XMAS 2004 Trip. Sorry for the "family" pics but hopefully I've uploaded enough of the trails. If the other fellas have more pics, please send them to me and I'll add them to my collection.

We were on Greasy Spoon and Broken Arrow trails. These were easy and extremely scenic. Wish we had time to do more trails but these two gave us a nice flavor of the area. I definitely need to do Crown King next year if possible.

We hooked up with Beowulf and CDan in ALBQ. A big thanks to Beo for letting me drive his rig while he gave us a tour of his area. Of course, I had to a dump a few duckets at CDan for parts Nice dudes. Nice supercharger setup CDan

Kumar put us up twice (inbound/outbound) in Kansas and a very big thanks for his hospitality. Sorry about our little dog doing buisness on the carpet! His wife can cook a mean breakfast I still think that boy (Kumar) ain't right

All in all, it was a 4,000 mile trip while towing a 2,000 lb popup camper. Avg MPG was 12 After AZ, the front DS was dropped and the hubs were unlocked for a 2wd mode. I have no MPG comparison due to too many variables (uphill/downhill/wind/etc). My main motivation for dropping the front DS was the UJ vibes I got from the 5* caster correction. Yes, I have a CV front DS!

Cheers,
Ali
once again, freezing in Chicago!
