I was trying to climb a short rocky section, but was having traction problems, even with ARBs. So I decided to goose the V8 a bit more, and there were three BANGS. I was able to limp back to camp on one-wheel drive. This is a Warn Birfield Eliminator front axle, and a rear Warn full-floater hub.
Then there is what's left of the traction bar. The Hi-Desert Roundup is an annual event hosted by Cal4WD. It takes place near Barstow, California. ![]() My vehicle is the Land Cruiser - 3rd in line. |

Back to the topic at hand, I guess Warn Birfield eliminator axles aren't all that great? Or was this an rare example of Warn breakage? ???
