So Cal 80s?

Any So Cal, as in Los Angles area lifted 80s ?

I'd like to see how the rig looks in person on 315s or even 285s or bigger?

WTF! That's taking some geographic liberties. I'm close to Tucson too...And Philly is still on the same continent.

Anyway, here's a decent place to post your question with some strictly local folks that mostly have 80s but as Junk would point out, they all stay on dirt roads, shopping malls, beaches, etc.

Also, where (more specifically) are you in the LA basin? It would be worth it to go up to Jim's Surf-n-Turf to meet several active folks with 80s from southern CA
(www.realcruiser.com)

Hope to see you around.

Talking SO Cal 80's

285's in the South Bay soon to be 315's as soon as I sell off my old (new) tires. Check out AMMO's rig if you get a chance. Hopefully it's not still on the flat bed....that's a whole 'nother story ...

We are planning on heading up to Big Bear this Sunday....come join in the fun and break a few things.

Cheers,
David...

so cal 80's

Went to Surf and Turf last year and can't wait to go again. At least once a month my 4 year old son asks when we can go back and play in the sand.

Skim - I'm in Hermosa and AMMO is in El Segundo...

We should all meet up some time, maybe even convoy up to Surf and Turf.

I have about 4-5 trucks going with me.

eh guys, there are a bunch of trails in the Los Padres National Forest between Ventura area and Santa Maria that you could explore on your way to Pismo. Make a day out of it!

Look for my post on tires and you'll see my '80 with old 275's and new 285's. More and more tempted to go to Surf n Turf than scout bike trip that weekend. Have to check my son's wrestling schedule these days. He wanted to come as well.

I'd likely go up Friday after work. How long a drive from South Orange County (Laguna Niguel)? Early Sat. morning would be a lot better traffic wise. Fighting up the 405 or 5 to the 101 and up the coast is about as bad as it gets on a Friday night outside of the Freeway from Hell 91 out to Corona.

So Cal 80

I'll also be heading up to SnT on Friday around 8AM; it's exactly 200 miles from Echo Park/Downtown. A caravan sounds great if anyone else is going up that early. Dana has pointed out that LA Reservoir (5/405) is a good place to meet up with those from the south. The SoCal Yahoo group would be a good place to coordinate caravans/details.

BTW: Mike is geographically challenged when it comes to LA: South Bay = El 2 to Palos Verdes...and 'inland' Borrance.

Ok, so how was I to know that South Bay didn't mean South San Francisco Bay? I didn't even know that there was a bay in LA. I'm not from CA, dammit!!! And the 91 is my dream come true - so much time to sit back and listen to music, talk on the phone, eat, grow old....

Sunday morning in Big Bear sounds tempting.

I'll be heading up to S-n-T Saturday am if anyone's leaving in that time frame let me know. I usually hit the 210 up to the 5.

Well since this thread has already been hijacked...

I know there will be several groups, caravans, and individuals coming from SoCal, NorCal, and out of state, including Canada.

I set up a group mailing list for Surf N Turf participants to stay informed and discuss the event with others. Currently there are about 100 people on the list. Arranging caravans would be a great use of the mailing list. I'll also use it to make last minute announcements.

Here's the info for the "surfnturf mailing list":
Subscribe: Send an Email to surfnturf-subscribe@realcruiser.com
Un-subscribe: Send an Email to surfnturf-unsubscribe@realcruiser.com
Post: Send Email to surfnturf@realcruiser.com

Finally, don't forget to order Event T-Shirts, Hoodies, Stickers and Dash Plaques !!!

Remember there is no formal registration or fee for SNT,
but you must PRE-ORDER merchandise before October 15, 2004.
That's when I give the final count to the printer.

ORDER NOW

THANKS!!!

P.S. there's lots to do at Pismo, I'm camping on the beach Thursday. My advice, come early and have MORE FUN!

Skim,

As Davis said "silver cruiser", I'm in El Segundo. Just keep your eyes peeled for a white FZJ80 with a big bolt head on the hood, really can't be missed. I sent you a PM with some info. Stop by the shop sometime and say hi, I’m usually around in the afternoons, and ask for Jersey.

-AMMO

P.S. The caravan up to surf and tuff would be great talk about rolling thunder...

Biff,
Actually I meant I'm not sure when I would be going... I might go up friday. Yeah take the LC, you will need 4x4 if you do a trail run, plus I want to check it out!

I'm on the SurfnTurf mailing list so that's a good way to keep up to date. I'll check back here too when things get closer.

Ammo (aka Jersey), does LinkMS have any plans for fabbing up some 80 stuff? Cool site though.

Also, is everyone here on the 80s SoCal yahoo list? Would be nice to try and coordinate some southern CA runs that are as fun and envy-inducing as the NorCal wagons - sheeet, they even have a cool logo.
