Rob,

Is this your version of a mid-life cruiser crisis?

The trip sounds way cool.

Maybe it's time for a MUD hostel forum.

Random thoughts.

Where would you get the notion that an old FJ45 could make that kind of voyage?

Ask me on Saturday and I'll give you some extra ear plugs!

I don't suppose we'll be seeing any YouTube videos of YOUR average vehicle speed!

You will be pleased with the mileage increase on the 31s. I got my best mileage ever when I ran 31s.....17!

From one incurable cruiserhead to another, let me tell you this: by the time you get back, you will have an unbreakable bond with your 45. I will be VERY interested to hear the ideas you come up with in the course of your adventure, and happy to share mine [some of which have been done to the rig] when we meet again at the 45 run. Then you will understand some of my choices better.

Best

Mark A.

Sounds like a fun trip. Not sure exactly how you are going back (all interstate or scenic route?) but im an hour south of Omaha in the southwest corner of Iowa. If you want a spot let me know, there are a couple short scenic bypasses through the loess hills on the way through the bluffs that look amazing through the summertime.

Yesterday I got the cooling system back together , new fan an shroud ( the others were kind of busted up ) today replaced the seal on the transfer case Ebrake, oil change and lube, adjsted the cluch tommorow tune up and make a bumper or at least something to put the rear license on, still need to have the new tires mounted, replace the rear diff gasket, and maybe hook up some night running lights just to make sure the truckers see me at 55 mph LOL I am sure I will think of something else as its gets closer and i get more excited Have a Great Weekend

Less than a month...I don't think you have any idea how stoked we are to have you heading our way!

Let us know if you need ANYTHING...we are a very resourceful group. As of right now, I know of a couple of people that are coming up from the KS area, so if you want/need an entourage, I'm sure we could get it arranged.

Also, I may have missed it, but do you have a defined route set? Just in case anyone out there wants to tailgate along side your route and give you the ol' cruiser waive! Tell you what...this would make a great TT article.

I believe I PM'd you my contact info, but if not, please PM me and I'll send it to you.
