Trails around Rapid city, SD?

Hi folks,

My wife and I are travelling to SD tomorrow from Texas. We were going to be taking a MINI, but we ran across a '98 4runner limited with 4WD and a rear e-locker we couldn't pass up, so trails are now needed!

I'm looking for fairly easy trails as its got street tires and no lift. I'd like something scenic but not too rough as the wife is 5 months pregnant too. We will be in Rapid city by tuesday I think. Anyone have any suggestions?

well there are some runs this week end. I don't know who will be off this week.

but here is our site. we are located in rapid city.
there is a lot to see and do here.

the first thing that you can do is pick up a forest service map.
the forest service is on hyway 16 south of rapid city between catron blvd and moon medows. it is off of moon medows road.

you can see it from hyway 16.

I live about 3 miles from there.

Thanks for the tips. I'll try to swing by the forest service office in the morning. I wasn't able to get online till now thru the hotel computer, should have brought a laptop!!. Hopefully it will be less rainy tomorrow.

rain is keeping me out of the forest.
