Deer Valley Challange

Looks like the thread got closed, I am shocked!!!

Snook: The pinch rock on Strawberry I was talking about is this one

They dropped a tree in the bypass so you have to go through the pinch rock now.

Anyway, I'd still like to see a comparison run in Deer Valley.

I know we have a bunch of 80 and 100 drivers around here who could do it with out resorting to brawling. AFAIK all the 80's and 100's live in perfect harmony here in NorCal/NorNv.

I'll be out actually driving my 100 for a few days, hope this thread doesn't turn south while I'm away.

Is a "CHALLANGE", the 100 series way of saying CHALLENGE? kind of sounds more sophisticated

So Rusty can't spell. Neither can eye.

Anyway, is there a proposed date for this? I need mucho lead time, unfortunately. Probably bring the 40, since this is likely it's last season.

I'll be building my sliders for this run.
How far out should I extend them for contact against the rocks...??

What? You just rebuilt (improved) your FJ40 last year.

Do it labor day weekend. The FJ45 run as well as the FJ55 run wil be held in Deer Valley the same time.

It will be kinda like Surf and Turf of the mountains

Obsticles like that really show where the width of the 100 series affects the ability to run some trails.

We have a trail in Anza Borrego (Pinion/Fish Creek) with an obsticle called the "squeeze" which I can't fit the 100 through. Great trail but no go in this truck. The old Tacoma made it through with the aid of the sliders...

We do too here in AZ. No brawling. Just fun and no insane ego's. The difference is that many of the Cal guys think their poop don't stink, they have the only good 100 drivers, and attack needlessly on non-CA guys. I know we can't equal your trail talents. Maybe some day I'll learn the art.

You can't gert mad at me for this post. I'm just repeating CAL words using my own words.

Any please....that pinch rock line is tight for sure! Are you saying this is a difficult obstacle? If so, I need more pictures.....These are difficult obstacles agreed by most who see/know them, dispite recognition from CAL:

And this is why.....this dude knows NOTHING about 80 and 100 harmony here in AZ. It's a simple attack aimed at me. Funny though....Walt (80) and I (100) sure had fun. Go figure. OH....we were driving on a NOR CAL trail.

Deer Valley is an easy run. Stock FJ40 made it through last year. We met several factory stock jeeps going in as we were coming out on the hwy side.

No wonder AZ Trails are misunderstood by CA! We use a 1-5 scale. When we say 4 we should say 8. [:>)

Speaking of CAL trails? What's the best trail in CA closest to AZ? Something like a 7-8 on your scale. Maybe around San Diego? Maybe we'll plan a trip out there in the 100. Hill climbs, some mid-sized rocks, ledges, though little brush.

Clawhammer, Johnson Valley, put up or shut up.........then I will lead you to Wrecking Balls and we will see if you ever call one of your trails difficult again......

Don't know those trails, but they sound like trails for my Lexus rather than the 100.

Or how about Truckhaven, nice little place, we can run the ledge and waterfall..........maybe some knotches for flex and travel and then run the trenches for clearance.
