There is a sign in town said that Monitor Pass is open, so that is good news regarding the snow pack.

I'd love to run Deer Valley in our 100. I made it through in our stock 96 Tacoma with only sliders. I haven't been since 2000, when we did Pardoe's Trail one day, and Deer Valley the next. It was a killer run!!

What is happening to the 40?

I ran Deer Valley from North to South in my bone stock F250 4x4.

But I am in for a run in my 40.

Guys,

I'm in. Deer Valley is a beautiful trail.
It's not too challenging. But lots of fun. I'm game.
Last time the 2m radios shined on that trip.

Regards

Alvaro

That was a good weekend. Perfect weather, great food. Ah, good times............

We've got a three day weekend coming up in May. Any interest in that date?

Because everyone knows that wagon drivers from Rhode Island are the most hardcore, besides the one wagon on Avalon, CA.

Are you sure is RI and not Delaware?

That's what I'm saying about a stock fj40!

What's Rubicon rated via the bypass routes? I'm adding lockers, more aggressive tires and some protection.

You did hit your rocker though didn't you? (I was right in front of you) Just trying to keep it real, if you will...

As for Rubicon, Even with taking all the bypasses.. I wouldn't take a stocker thru there! You're guarantied some body damage on Rubi.. (stocker)
You've seen mine (SOA w 35's), and I couldn't avoid some damage last time i was there..

Rubicon - naturally "10" even with bypass
californiajeeper.com :: Rubicon Trail

That's why some drivers choose to come in from the east via Cadillac Hill to Rubicon Spring and exit the same way out. I would say rated "9" from my 100 series perspective.

Listed of rated Sierra trails
californiajeeper.com

Cheers,

Yea. I'll have that spot protected by the end of May, at least.

Sigh. I wanna go. Maybe we'll come in via Cadillac Hill and ride MTBs around and check it out...

What kinda damage? Sigh.

It wasn't horrendous, but damage none the less...

First pic shows one of my touches, the second shows both scrapes... The top scrape is more pushed in than it looks in the pictures...

Once I get my 6o series springs installed, it'll be sawzall time and that bottom scratch will buff right out...

The rock rails I've got in my head would completely prevent that particular issue. Spring over vs stock means I'd be spending lots of time getting the ends of my u-bolts drug across big rocks by someone with a tow strap, at least. My co-driver (13yo) is pretty sure we can't make it.

Mark was your 40 locked at the time, when you drove thru the con?

You'll get there some day! Where there's a will there's a way

Do you mean if it was locked in that picture, or if I had lockers for the run?

I had front and rear ARB's.. I run them off my Co2 system which after Buck Island ran out on me... So from Buck I did the rest of the trail open, open....
I was pleasently surprised how capable these rigs are even open! Never had to take a strap, or winch.. Even with Cadillac having a stream coming down it..

to the FJ40

Since is the only member on my ignore list I missed 18% of the post to this thread.

Did he contribute anything meaningful? Or was it more of his usual inflammatory BS?
If the latter why doesn't he rate a time out from the mods?

Back OT.
on my spelling error, sorry about that.

In case anyone missed it the pinch rock is on Strawberry Creek Trail NOT DV. I posted it to show how tight that spot is, otherwise Strawberry is pretty easy for a 100.

Did anybody commit to any dates? My summer is filling up fast,
